My search feature on my phone isn't working so I apologize if there is already a thread on this. I don't remember the name of the quest, but it has to do with finding the girl who burned in the house after dark. I killed the vampire lady (name starts w/ an 'L'), but when I try to activate the girl's tomb (name starts w/ an 'H') nothing happens? Is this a known bug?

I already got the other vampire lady's (name starts w/ an 'A') journal and my next step is to give it to the Jarl. I just don't want to advance too far in the quest if there is a way to activate the tomb.

The quest is called Laid To Rest. I'd gladly provide a link but I'm pretty sure can't post any.

Edit: I searched and it says you just have to go to the Jarl to collect your reward. I haven't done the quest myself so I can't really talk from experience. Try is and see if everything's right.

As far as i can remember there is no way to activate the tomb, its there for 'decoration' purposes. Either that or i also experienced the bug ...

Nope, if you activate the tomb you should get the ghost of the little girl.

I had this issue myself. What I did was......I reloaded, went straight to were the coffin was and activated it before the vampire lady showed up. (a few second to a minute later).

I think I had to do it a couple times before it activated right though. But yeah, you should get the ghost of the little girl at the coffin first.

If you saved after killing the vampire chic then you're probably out of luck. You may have saved it with the glitch.

That svcks...I think my prior save is too far back and don't really want to do that much over again. Maybe I can find an auto save from leaving the Hall or something...

Looneydude - so has the 'Laid to Rest' quest completed in your quest log, or does it still show as open? This part of the quest really doesn't matter to me as long as when I get through the end the entire quest shows as completed...

All in all though I am level 15 w/ about 55hrs of gameplay and this is the first "glitch" I've come across...

On a side note, are there any "safe" storage areas in Morthal?

It still might complete without activating the coffin. I'm not sure. It might complete the quest itself and you just won't have that particular objective complete. You'll have to try it and see.

After you killed the vampire lady, did her husband show up and talk to you? That should happen right after killing her as well.

Anyplace in the game that is not owned by you is risky. If you don't own it, it will probably respawn eventually. Due to glitches though, a lot of things never do respawn. But I still wouldn't risk it.
