Most Annoying Fight Yet

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:02 am

Of those who done quest where you had to go three places and kill those warriors, just fought second one of them, the first was no problem, second I found freaking annoying, the guy kept making doubles of himself and using disarm shouts and Fus Do Rah on me, so I kept having to go find Wuuthrad, and two times I lost it, so had to load much earlier. The annoying thing is he's so easy to fight, but if you keep hitting his clones he uses shouts and bye bye goes my weapon, so have to go looking for it.

So in the end, I summoned Flame Atarnoch and let her find out who was real, and then just whaled on him aggressively.

Anyone got annoying fights, or anyone else had this much trouble with this fight.

It's in Geirmund.

Look at the horns on their helmets. The clones are different from the real one.

Hes hard to fight if youre not a ranged fighter, but if you look closely at him, you will see the real one is wearing a different helmet. Also, the clones glow purple-ish, while the real one doesnt.

EDIT: Must be Ninja day... :toughninja:

The horns give away the real one. I had a follower, kept at a distance, and used a bow.

Personally, I think areas that have like five or more Draugr Deathlords at once (especially when some of them have bows) is really annoying as heck.

I agree, they always seem to use Unrelenting Force on you.

I think that it gets really annoying when you get to a higher level and those tougher dragur use that shout that knocks you over. The first time that happend to me I was like wowww did i just die?

I used Bound weapons on him, and the clones do not have horns on thier helmets. When I first did this quest I had the same problem. There is another dungeon with a similiar boss that is not part of the Gauldur Amulet questline that would disarm my character too, so I always kept a backup weapon, but I did attack the clones at first.
Wisp Mothers are similiar, they will summon clones as a distraction.
Losing a weapon to a shout is annoying, and the Draugr are the worst offenders. I have reloaded because of loosing Wuthraad or Dawnbreaker in a Dungeon many times.

I'm curious if you're disarmed so many times, does weapon just vanish or something?

It doesnt vanish as such, but sometimes it can clip through the floor, so you cant retrieve it. Super annoying.

If you have your weapon hotkeyed you can quickly unequip it when you see a draugr take a breath to shout.

I read the title and thought of the very same fight. Jerk disarmed my Skyforge Steel Greatsword and I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to find it in the water. I couldn't find the darn thing anywhere so I ended up playing peek-a-boo with my bow. Still couldn't find the darn thing, so I reloaded, equipped a useless one-hand weapon, let him disarm me, switched to my greatsword, and used whirwind sprint to pillar-hop and kill him.

Aphaea suggested something I do, you can tell when they are about to shout, have a normal weapon or two on a hotkey and when you see them prep for the shout, equip the unimportant weapon. I'll usually use the weapons from draugr I've cleared earlier in the area as weapon fodder for the shout.

I know, I lost my weapon twice, but damn does he give ya a fine ass bow XD, almost worth all the trouble :P.

Second most annoying fight, dragon spawned outside a dungeon (no fast travel on the reload) where I just rescued a hostage for the Companions. The dragon, hostage and Lydia, and a nearby giant kept getting into a 3-way fight and I didn't want to just run away because I wasn't sure the hostage would follow. The giant could 1-shot me (cool animation I went flying) and I was way too low level to kill the dragon (deadly dragon mod). I spent a significant amount of time trying to coax the dragon and giant into fighting each other (stupid dragon kept flying around engaging wolves and once - mammoths and giants, while the orignal giant chased me) and letting Lydia and the hostage do their kneel and rally routine. But hey, at least I got to fill a greater soul gem from the giant long before I was actually capable of killing one.

That fight is pretty annoying, and at the conclusion of the Gauldur quest you have to go through the same thing all over again essentially. It's worth noting thought that using a Ward spell is the easiest way to stop the ragdolling - even if you have 100 magicka and can cast a lesser ward for like 4 seconds, you'll still be able to take the full brunt of the shout and then run in and lop his head off.

I find battles where the NPCs use disarming shouts incredibly annoying (and I feel like a weasly cowardly bag of crap if I ever use it) The y use it over andover again. It is sooo annoying.

The WispMom clones aren't named the same though. Can't at this point remember what they are.... Shades, maybe?

The MOST annoying thing is that they seem to shout more often the the character can. Now, I'm all for NPCs having the same stuff the player's toon does - as long as the metrics are the same.

I was doing the Ansilvund quest, and got up to the final fight. One of the Draugr in the final fight used the Disarm shout, and I was unable to switch my weapons in time, so I dropped Dawnbreaker. Now imagine my surprise when a skeleton picked it up and attacked me with it.
