Most Beautiful Places in Skyrim?

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 6:30 am

Hey everyone,

I have basically nothing to do until Tuesday when the CK is released, and I'm completely locked onto Skyrim until then, so I had an idea.

I'm going to put together a video showcasing Skyrim's most beautiful places, unmodded. As of Tuesday we are all going to tear the game apart and mod every single little detail to our hearts content, so I wanted to make a Thank You to Bethesda for providing such an amazing game. Now, I'm focusing on more visual aspects. Such as amazing looking valleys, waterfalls, ponds, etc. In addition, I'll personally be focusing on adding new lands, so I wanted to thank Beth and show how amazing the places that came with the game are.

What is your favorite spot in the entire game? It can be a beautiful little stream, an open terrace with a view of all the land, or a place that gives you a great sunset. It could also be your favorite because of the pure tone of the place. Is it a dungeon with amazing lighting? Or great ambience?

Please describe your favorite place, as well as (optionally) the best time of day and weather to be there. I'm going to record a bunch of stuff ingame, but I figured additional suggestions would greatly improve the range of stuff I could include. Also, I doubt I've seen the entire game, so I'm sure there's some incredible stuff I have yet to see. If you could include a screenshot to show where it is, that would be a great help to me.

It will sort of be like the 'World of Skyrim' video, but more of an Ode to it. I'll be doing the video over the weekend and will upload it on Monday or Tuesday. Also, I'm placing this in the mods section since it's paying tritube to the game, as a base for us to mod, as well as a wonderful product on it's own.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Alexander J. Velicky

Lost Knife Hideout's main chamber is too drab for me to call it beautiful, but I still think it's one of the more interesting spaces in the game.

I'm not sure of the exact location but if you take the path north from Iverstead in the early morning you might come upon http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/632983753045147938/4EE1EF91D15194F19F49BD4FC814F42D0C17E51F/.

From the valley in Eastmarch, go up the waterfall, and look out at the tundra. The river next to you, the mountain walls, the tower over the river, rolling plains, Whiterun in the distance. It's the best, especially at sunset.

On the shores of Solitude looking at the majestic Katariah in the bay. Best conditions would be at dusk w/ clear skies.

I always admired the statue of Azura high above Winterhold. It is very large, and when there is heavy snowfall you can only make out the silhouette of the statue. I think this is very awe inspiring. next to that I would definitely say blackreach
