Most Epic Battle Ever!ha

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:56 pm

Sit around my fellow warriors for I am about to tell you a tale like none other. It all happened 10 minutes ago..........

I making a trip at night from Whiterun to find the fabled alchemist's shack so that I may have a home away from the constant verbal attack of the nords because of my reptilian physique. I had heard that the alchemist's shack was in the vicinity of Ivarstead so I followed the road pointed to by the signs. The road began to snake north with the mountain on one side and a river on the other. I was about to take the road up to higher ground when the most disgusting creature I had ever seen jumped in my path, a troll. I quickly retrieved my bow and shot an arrow at its head. To my disbelief it did almost no damage to the creature and its wound healed as soon as it pulled out my arrow. The beast let out a ghastly roar and began to charge me, which I easily dodged. I searched my memory for the book that detailed the weaknesses of the trolls.

Fire!!! That was its weakness. Unfortunately, I did not have a weapon that was enchanted with fire nor the magical aptitude to burn it to death. There was only two options: fight with what I have or flee. No, there was only one option my Argonian pride would not allow me to run like a coward so I decided to use my twin axe style. I had learned the basics of it so I would have a backup should I ever be unable to use my bow, which never happened until now. With my steel war axes at hand I charged at the beast. I easily dodged his claws and retaliated with my blades. After a while I caught on to the beast's technique and slowly went from foolishly jumping out of the way to stepping back in the right direction. It seemed the fight would never end for I had enough magika knowledge to do a basic heal and the beast natural healing ability. I could feel myself getting stronger and I began to fight harder and more aggressively. We fought from night until late in the afternoon it seemed(1hr30min realtime) when I finally got the beast onto its knees. I then used all my remaining stamina to double axe to finish the beast. I then proceeded to pull the troll off the road into the river and said a prayer for one of the mightiest beast I've ever encountered.
I didn't make it to the shack this day for exhaustion got the best of me so I rented a room in Ivarstead and quickly fell asleep. The End

TRUE STORY.

You'd have made a fine pair of boots for that troll.

And the moral of this story? Fire solves everything.

Great read. :)

what level/skill are you that it took over 1 hour to kill a single troll? From level 1-60 i have yet to encounter a fight that lasts more then 15-20mins
and i'm not playing novice..i fought 2 dragons at once, which was tough but still only took a few minutes

Wow, I got an adrenaline rush just reading your wild tale, my friend! Trolls are mighty foes, I agree! Now, after you finish your ale, go and put a fire enchantment on your weapon or buy a Flame spell book! LOL
HOLY COW... 1.5 hr fight! Now that's what I call endurance! :D Excellent read!

Did you ever come across that small cave in the rock that has 3 frost trolls with dead bodies and bones strewn about? I don't remember where exactly but i was wandering the wild when i looked to my left and noticed them...i instantly crouched as to not be noticed, put a arrow in 1, shouted elemental fury at the other 2 charging and quickly cut them down with my battle axe

I took out 3 frost trolls in 5 mins at level 30 something...i'm still baffled how it took you 1 1/2 hours to kill 1 troll. What level were you and what difficulty? I was using a unsmithed steel battle axe on expert btw

If he has no fire and is a low level it's not that hard to believe.

srry for taking so long but here are the stats when I first started the fight.
lvl 16 argonian archer - the fight was cqc so I didn want to use my archery(lvl51)
1 handed 30- did almost no damage to the troll with one hit
weapon used- dual wield steel war axe (no enchantments)

but when I finished him i was lvl 18 and my one handed was around early 50s lol

edit- oh and the difficulty is expert

I could do that too with my dwarven bow but I wanted to mix it up since I had planned to use my axes as the cqc method for my character. And since I use lightarmor and rarely get hit I couldn just trade blows with him so he had time to heal between my low damage blows
Plus I had nothing but time so I took it as a challenge. :drag:

No Ive never seen that before. It only took so long because I was using a skill I do not use (im practically pure archer, not on purpose). So I saw it as a challenge

Awesomely epic battle indeed!

I just had one myself, after installing the mod Deadly Dragons.

I was visiting Dawnstar for the first time in search of the Mythic Dawn Museum, and just as i was getting directions from a local, a Blood Dragon swooped in and covered the village with its icy breath. The darned was too clever to land and go in melee battle with the handful of brave guards who had gathered to fight it off, and it kept doing fly-bys while occasionally landing on a roof top. We kept launching arrows at the beast for a good half hour (realtime) until all the guards were dead, and I could finally land my very last poisoned elven arrow in its heartspace. Now the beast lies dead in the streets of Dawnstar as a gruesome reminder of the times that has come to Skyrim, and while the children love playing on its yellowed bones, their parents have more troubled looks on their faces.

Needless to say, I svcked its soul :bunny:

We have Morrowind and Black Marsh though.

And soon Cyrodil they took our borders once, bargained our slavery for allegence with Morrowind, it's time we show those damn imperials the power they have angered.

---

seriously though i cant wait for the Argonians to get so angered they launch an attack, i think to be perfectly honest being on Tamriel even before the mer they know alot more about the land than any other race that settled here not to mention there rumoured to communicate with the Hist, practically the earth beneath itself.

back on topic: great fight though sounds like a blast, i had a simular one with a dragon (one hit and im dead) took me forever to down, im not going to go into detail here though.
