Me? It's Night Stalkers, all the way. I started encountering them regularly at around lv.6, and at this point it's like fighting 6 Yao Guais at once. One Stalker is formidable enough, but 3 or more kills you within seconds. As it happens, my complaints about these creatures include every aforementioned category:
Difficult: Easily one of the most formidable enemies I've encountered in Fallout. They require significant strategy and planning to defeat, and waste all my hallow-points.
Cheap: Their lunging attack knocks you back, and disrupts your aim MID-VATS (!!!). One second you'll be blasting their heads in VATS, only to have your aim disrupted with your remaining shots pointed at the ceiling of a cave. Way to go.
Glitchy: So far, only about 10% of VATS shots actually damage these buggers. They have the amazing ability to completely ignore 4 VATS shots to the head with 0 damage. This is a consistant problem with me (though not once I haven't encountered with other enemies - it's just at its worst with Night Stalkers).
Dumb: Who would engineer a creature that was half-coyote, half-rattle snake? Why?
