I'm going to cook her some bacon and eggs in bed tomorrow but we were all out of bacon, so I went to the shop to buy some, along with some carrots she wanted. When I came back she saw me with the shopping bag and asked for her carrots. I said "hold on" and quickly went to my room to hide the bacon, since it was supposed to be a surprise (she was working in the kitchen so I couldn't put it in the fridge/freezer). Now she's realised I'm hiding something from her and she thinks I've bought porm magazines or something .

Bah. Probably call mum. I live in a different city, thought I'd do the good thing and send a card and a Palmers Garden Centre voucher, so of course as per my luck it seems to have gone missing along the way. Sacrificed 20 bucks worth of food for the damn thing to get lost. Not happy.
So I DID send her a card. She just ain't getting it. I hate NZ post.

Hate to break it to you but it's probably worse. She probably thought you were hiding a super awesome mothers day present and now is expecting something EXCELLENT. Those better be some damned good eggs. ;)

Ordered Pizza Box. She doesn't get to eat expensive food often.

I guess I could be somewhat nicer. But I'm not gonna waste my money on her, specially when she hasn't done anything to deserve it.

I bought my mom some flowers, but she was out of town this weekend so I'm cooking her a makeup breakfast next weekend.

I wrote my mum, wished her a happy mothers day and told her I love her. (I very rarely say that to her, and she knows I mean it.) It means alot to her

I made my Mom breakfast. It was a traditional Southern styled one with buttermilk biscuits, cream gravy, sausage and eggs. Very rare occasion that I cook and rarer still something like that. Didn't get her a gift, but three weeks ago I flew down to Southern California to pick up http://i52.tinypic.com/2h702ec.jpg up for her (she bought it long distance from a dealer in Orange County - great deal) and spent eight hours driving it back. That's a big enough favor I should be set for Mother's Day and maybe even a birthday. ;)

Liked it so much I'm flying down next weekend to get one in red for myself. :)

I actually got to see my mom! Turns out my parents were doing something right where I go to college, and I got to eat at a buffet with them. YES!

I took her out for lunch at an asian fusion restaurant. Later in the evening we went to some Jamaican place for margaritas with our neighbours.
