Hey guys!
I have a bit of a problem here. My mouse causes a CTD occasionally when i move my mouse up until it cannot go any higher (on the destop), then when i click or hold my mouse button, it clickes on one of my shortcuts I have on my destop.
I have had this problem for a really long time now, I also had this problem with fallout 3 and even TES 4. I have look everywhere on the internet for a solution but could not find any.
I think it could be a problem I am using but I cannot tell for sure because it sometimes it does crash and other times it does not.
So please guys, help me out!

EDIT: It is not really a CTD but the screen switches to my destop, I can just open fallout: new vegas again. But sometimes it does crash when I try to switch to new vegas again.

its sound like you are playing on windowized mode

Check to make sure you are playing in full screen and not a maximized window.

Also, make sure you don't have Xfire or anything similar running. Sometimes these background programs can cause the game to flicker in and out of "focus" for the computer.

It is full screen full screen, and I have tried running it without xfire with oblivion. It worked but the problem came back after a few days.
I have also experienced it with the ATI Catalyst but problem came back this time too.
Can you maybe name those programs so that I can check if it is running?

Xfire was the most common one I heard of. The Vista/Win7 screen gadgets did it as well for some people, I think.

I think you'd have to try turning off various things to be sure.

Or I can recommend using GBoost, will will turn off a bunch of unnecessary stuff when playing games and turn them back on when you are done.
