Mouse/Control Lag

I've been having this problem with both Fallout 3 and now New Vegas. In the game, everything from the mouse look in-game to the movement and interaction controls, even the main menu screen has a substantial control delay. It makes the game feel sluggish and severely cripples my ability in combat, making the game almost unplayable. I have tried experimenting with my graphics settings but that didn't fix the problem. I also tried the fix here: http://shortgamer.blogspot.com/2010/10/hint-mouse-lag-in-fallout-new-vegas.html

But that didn't work either. Help!

I had the same issues, add this under controls in your Fallout_default.ini. The only thing is, it has to be the file that is in your steamapps falloutNV folder. Not "my games/falloutNV."

fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
fForegroundMouseBase=0
fForegroundMouseMult=0

Other tip: if you have a logitech mouse, get the latest control point software and use the game settings to turn off mouse accelleration when a game is detected. Then go into the Fallout game menu and re-adjust to taste.

Oh, and it will never be perfect, but should be much better.

Thank you for the help, but I registered either very little or no detectable improvement. There is still a detectable delay between when I input any kind of control order, be it Keyboard or Mouse, and when it happens in-game.

Strange thing is I downloaded a bootleg copy on a hunch and it's controls were perfectly smooth! No lag at all. This was after I got the game off Steam. Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

Alright, I set the drive where the Page File is do D: and manually set it to be minimum 500MB to maximum 1000MB.

It really didn't seem to help at all.
