Mouse lag in the world

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:24 am

Hello,

I'm having a lot of input lag on skyrim. But here comes the nice part, it's only in the world (not in menu's) and only with the mouse. My mouse just becomes unresponsive, i can still walk, draw weapon, enter menu's etc, but i just can't look around or swing my sword or shoot my spell. In the menu's it works just fine.

I already tried about every sollution out there, changing the ini files in my documents (iPressInterval = 0 bMouseAcceleration = 0 ).
I've tried playing with the max pre-renderd frames, but that doesn't seem to make a change.
Lowering the quality isn't the sollution either (and since the game still runs fine, i imagine it doesn't have anything to do with the rendering)
I'm using a Logitech MX Performance mouse and the game setup is not active in Set Point.

Basicly, i've run out of ideas here, and I don't have an other mouse to use (plus i really like this one).
Anyone else ever experienced the same problems and fixed them?

All my drivers are up-to-date, and I don't experience this problem in any other program/game

Thanks in advanced!

The signals my mouse is sending should be correct, else i would have problems with it on windows it's self, other games and inside skyrim in the menu. But it only lags when i'm in the world. I don't think it is a graphical or even hardware issue since everything else is working just fine, i can still walk, run, talk. Basicly, when i see the crosshair in stead of a cursor, it lags. And fighting without being able to block or attack is kinda hard, spells don't charge enough to actually fire and looking around is impossible. Everything else works just fine.

This leads me to think it's a software issue, but i'm unsure if it's inside my mouse drivers, or inside skyrim's idea of how the mouse should react. I've spend atleast 12 hours on figuring it out, and still no sollution.

Also, i've tried turning off all the mods, but still no prevail, Performance mods I use are: Confidence Man, SkyBoost, TESV Acceleratin Layer and I use SKSE, but with all of them off no change at all)

EDIT i just reinstalled Skyrim, without any mods. But that didn't make a difference either... still trying some things on my own here.

However i did find out that skyrimprefs.ini is in my documents as well as in the game folder of skyrim in a folder called: skyrim. Which one does skyrim actually read?

use a FPS limiter and lock it to 59FPS, dont disable vsync. Without one my game experience is ruined, it near unplayable

try DXtory, disable everything other than frame limiting in its options tabs

Bump, sort of.
I think i have fixed the problem. Somehow, using an USB extender cable, and putting the unifying reciever closer to my mouse (i think it was about 1,5 meters away from each other, now a keyboard length) fixed it (atleast as far as I can see now... so i'll beter start downloading all the mods and enjoy skyrim once again!
