Movies In Production

Post » Fri Sep 09, 2011 1:26 am

I don't know if there is a thread like this, I searched and couldn't fine one, so if there is maybe a mod could merge it.

But I just saw this movie this morning: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1077368/.

I know there are some folks on here old enough to have grown up watching this, with their Mom, most likely, I know I sure did, and I Loved that show as a kid even though it as a soap opera.

I think this should be a Very Good Movie, looking at the cast they have for it.

Helena Bonham Carter, who played the Red Queen in http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1014759/

Johnny Depp from that one too.

Christopher Lee, (rumored)

Alice Cooper!

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0294847/, The Original Barnabas Collins!

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0782978/, Quentin Collins from the TV series, Awesome.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0662430/, Angelique from the TV series, Awesome.

On the http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059978/. Be sure and check out the stars on that series, or that appeared early on back then, Harvey Keitel, was one of them.. lol

He gets left out of many Movie/Television Vampire discussions, he was really a Very Good Vampire.

This is going to be a Great Freaking Movie, Directed By http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000318/, Super Freaking Cool!

When I was a kid, my older brother wouldn't let me watch the show, as quaint as that sounds now. :) Kind of nice that he was looking out for me.

I'm looking forward to the film of the zombie novel "World War Z", though it's unfortunate that Brad Pitt was the one to produce and star in it. The book was a real page-turner.

The movie "John Carter" should be worth seeing; the first time one of Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Princess of Mars" series to be filmed.

http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2755696640/nm0294847, was pretty darn scary as a Vampire from when I was 6 to 11 years old.. Lol

John Carter, I have not read that in ages!

I'm confused as to why you think people would know her due to her role in that, rather than her performance in Fight Club or Harry Potter. She's a pretty well known actress.

I've never heard of John Carter before, but now I have to see it - I have a friend named John Carter.

I'm hugely excited for the Avengers movie - Captain America and Iron Man are awesome, though I haven't seen Thor yet. The sequel to Kick Ass should be good too, whenever that comes out. Oh, and the next Batman movie goes without saying too...

I think I have an obsession with superhero movies. I just haven't seen a really good one in a while, I suppose.

I have never seen Fight Club, and have never wanted to see it.. lol

And it just occurred to me that she was in Harry Potter when you said that, and Very Good in it too.

But why it came out in my post like that is because of the Internet Rabbit Hole that I started from and in... Lol

I was watching Alice In Wonderland tonight and went to the IMDb page to read more about the movie there, and to find out who played the Red Queen.

I Love That Movie, and I watch it every time it is on for the most part.. lol

I didn't recognize it was Helena Bonham Carter with all special effects and that Huge Cranium she has in Alice In Wonderland. lol

I then clicked on Johnny Depp and saw the Dark Shadows link, and then looked to see who else was in it from Alice In Wonderland.

If you have never heard of John Carter before then that means you don't know about the books, Which Are Excellent.

http://www.johncarterofmars.ca/, from the Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc webpage.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carter_(character), wiki page.

Same author that wrote all of the original Tarzan books, that all of the movies come from, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgar_Rice_Burroughs.

Awesome! I will be looking forward to seeing that movie for sure.

Thanks for posting that. :)

EDIT:

A quote for the You Tube page, from a fan of that video:

John Carter, The Warlord Of Mars,

Could Read Men's Minds 18-Years Before The Shadow.

Was Surrounded By Naked Women 20-Years Before Conan.

Flew In Advanced Sky-Craft 22-Years Before Flash Gordon.

Was Able To Leap To Tall Buildings 26-Years Before Superman.

Conquered A World Devastated By Environmental Disaster 80-Years Before Al Gore.

John Carter Is The Man!

Yes Indeed He Is! Lol

Every once in a while I hear that they're making Preacher into a film or a TV series, but I'm wondering if it will ever happen. I'd love to see it though

Superhero movies are great. They are always a movie hit for me. However, I don't really like comic books all that much. Watched Scott Pilgrim, fantastic, hugely enjoyable and I've seen it now about a million times (no joke). Picked up the first book in my school library, couldn't get into it at ALL. With Cowboys and Aliens, I wanted to read the comic book first, just so I could feel all superior and hip :teehee: when I went to see the movie. Again, I really couldn't get into it but I liked the film a lot.

Oddly, though, I throughly enjoyed the comic books written by Herge (Tintin etc) and still do to this day. Just the action packed ones don't seem to click with me.

Scott Pilgrim was straight up awesome, I agree. And I love superhero movies, but I've never read a comic in my life - it's come to the point in that industry where the movies are a bigger part of the franchise than the comics themselves, anyway.

Also, watched that John Carter trailer and couldn't stop laughing. I can't disassociate the name with my (goofy, nave country boy) friend, which will probably ruin the movie for me. A shame, because it looks pretty awesome.

And Ogramirad: Go watch Fight Club. Now. No man (you're a dude, right?) should live their life without enjoying it's awesomeness. Better yet, go read the book. It's just that good.

Yes I am a man, I have seen clips of it it and I remember when it came out, never read the book though.

But from what I did see, it really didn't interest me at all.

I do like many of the Actors in it though for sure.

Ok, I though you were kidding at first... Lol

"President Lincoln's mother is killed by a supernatural creature, which fuels his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers".

But that is just crazy.. lol

Footloose

As in a remake of the original or something? I hadn't heard of that. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the original, but it should be interesting to see.

I wasn't that crazy about the original movie, but it seems really stupid to me to remake it.

I've read a few chapters of the book "Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter" and the author actually plays it straighter than you'd expect. (And I read once that Lincoln throughout his life was proud of his frontier roots; he used to demonstrate to visitors that he could still hold an axe out horizontally, a test of strength.) These vampire parodies do seem like a dumb idea overall, though.

They are doing it in order to take advantage of the amount of people that watch the crappy dancing competition shows.
