Moving objects in the game?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:42 pm

I didn't find a way to move objects within the game. This is odd, since it's a 3D game and Oblivion already had it. Was this feature removed?

It was great to be able to push objects around, including dead bodies, and it opened up several possibilities for a mod, since now we can play a Thief-style character. I was thinking about situations where the guards remain on alert if they spotted a dead body, which would force the assassin-type characters to drag the enemy bodies into the shadows to avoid detection.

It was really cool but you could drag items away out of sight and then steal them, it was a really overpowered feature. Idk if a patch removed it, haven't played in a week or two.

On Xbox, hold down "A" until object "jumps" off of surface. It is now in your "hands" and you can do with it what you want.

Never tried dragging something outta sight to nick it.

I do remember Npc's getting a bit narked off with me for moving items around that way.
"put that down!" etc.
I never tried carrying on after they started complaining.

I've heard you can do this, say, in a shop, and then rob them blind because they can't see you stealing... but I haven't tried it. Yet.

I like the pick up feature, but the one in Oblivion and Fallout is better. More accurate pull/push/pick up of items depending on were you grabbed. Easy to decorate house and place items in environment.

In Oblivion didn't NPCs consider it stealing if you just picked up an item and moved it? I have a habit of picking stuff off the floor in peoples homes and putting it nicely on the table etc. Stuff on the floor bugs me.
