To Much Stamina...

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 1:03 pm

How high should my stamina be for a typical warrior?
i have around 300 atm for a 1h fighter w/ shield and he seems to have enough most of the time.
How much stamina is to much? would i need more for a duel weilder? What about a marksman?

I ask this without the light armor stamina regen or the red guards racial power.

Interesting. You and I have the same set up. However, I have 330 stamina and I usually run out if I am fighting an elder dragon or blood dragon, or some tough draugr or npc. I put a perk point into power bash for my shield and I use it ALOT. I kind of wish I knew that heavy armor is obsolete with the extremely unbalanced smithing improvements you can implement onto light armor and light armor regens stamina :/.

difficulty could play a factor i realized. I will def run out of stamina during a dragon battle, but vs a bunch of forsworn or bandits i have plenty. I am also disappointed about the smithing, I'm probably gonna re roll soon (again haha).

yah i figured for stuff like that you would only need 200 or so.

Does the light armor stamina regen perk work in combat?

Playing on default difficulty, lvl 41, with about 300 stamina. I only experience stamina in two ways:
1) "What do I need stamina for anyway?"
2) "Where the hell did my stamina go?!"

In a battle with 4 higher level bandits, I don't seem to break a sweat. Then I fought a dragon priest with 4 high level draugr casters, and I was practically bathing in Vigorous and Ultimate Stamina potions.

In a fight where you're shield bashing casters, running, swinging, and soaking up frost damage you'll lose stamina in buckets.

I agree. I can't see you using more than 300 stamina in 30 seconds of work  .

Try wielding a 2 handed weapon and then ask if 300 is to much, because its not. My dude has 470 stamina (120 added from armor buffs) and I run out of the stuff in any tough fight requiring me to use power attacks. Any stamina hungry build should get at least 300+ stamina to be viable without resorting to stamina pots 24/7.

One thing that matters in my opinion is whether you're in light or heavy armor. I've tried both, and now that I've tried light armor I'm never going back. 50% more stamina regen goes a LONG way in those drawn out running fights vs 10+ levelled bandits or 3-4 necromancers or multiple dragons or what have you. Considering you can easily hit the armor cap either way with smithing I'm fairly certain I'll never use heavy armor again.

I play heavy armor with 0 cost restoration, with the perk that makes healing spells recharge stamina by same amount, so everytime I cast close wound I get 150 health/stamina, so i basically lvled stamina to around 150 lets me do 3 power attacks +/-.
