Multiplayer PVP

Hey everyone, Spink here.

So, I dont want to gripe over things I cannot control, so please dont take me for a complaining child. I managed to reach level 20 in Multiplayer as well as reach as high as 11th position on the leader boards for several days. I have been really enjoying myself. However, now 3 days later, I cannot play the multiplayer at all.

The game is working, as far as I know. I can log in and create a match or quick start and yet no one joins my matches. I cant join an active match or anything. It seems as if no one is playing the game, at least from my end. Yet, I see that my position in the leader boards has drastically dropped from 11th spot down to 38th now, litteraly, because I cannot participate.

Can anyone help me? Is it possible for a bug to be happening here? I sit looking for groups for 30 to 45 minutes at a time, to where I just give up and do something else.

I would really like to flex my multiplayer skills and get my higher position back in the leader boards, but I dont want to wait hours at a time.

Help if you can!!

Spink (also my steam name)

No dude....nobody can help you....because nobody plays that stupid combat rally racing mario cart plus Jak & Daxter ridiculous so-called multiplayer - PvP would have been good TDM style - I will add a caviot...people are playing that stupid stuff on XBOX, very few...PC gaming is for the dinosaurs...even John Carmack agrees.

Wow...someone had their Urine Flakes today.

As far as multiplayer goes, I'm not sure why you are having issues. I'm not really having problems getting into matches. Unlike the previous respondant I am enjoying the "Jak and Daxter" combat racing. It's something different. If I want TDM I jump on BF3 beta or WH40K Space Marine until BF3 and CODMW3 come out. Besides not everyone in the world like TDM. Most times it really turns me away - not because I'm bad at it (not great either), but because of the people who get on and start bad mouthing everyone and screaming obscenities when things don't go accord to plan. In fact I find more people on the Road Rage multiplayer are quiet or speak very little.

@ the loud mouthed child NX10000 - I didn't ask for your dumb ass opinion. No one cares if you don't play it, that's not what I asked. I personally enjoy myself in the multiplayer, regardless of how limited it may be. If youd like to run around like a [censored] in PVP go play WoW, Halo or any other game. Its kids like you that ruin the game industry with your uneducated, inexperienced opinions. John Carmack is one man, with one opinion, his opinion holds no weight in comparison to the hundred-thousand plus Artists, Directors, Programmers ,Designers and everyone else in the game industry, So who honestly cares what he says. If he wants to swap from PC to console, he can be my guest. If you don't have any constructive feedback to offer, then you know where you can shove your opinion.

As for the level headed advlt who replied, Thank you NightTerry. That was the reply I was looking for. I assume that not many people play the "car racing", which I assume is the reason for the terribly long wait to even join a game. Personally, I feel that Rage has some very positive design aspects, art direction and game play. But I do feel that there are a number of design flaws that were overlooked during the final stages of production.

As with all or new game engines, there are always bug's, especially within the first few weeks of a launch. Granted, I assume kids these days dont understand that part. I've worked for both NCsoft, Activision and Blizzard and all big titles, no matter what, have flaws that need to be tackled one at a time. Considering Rage was a joint effort between an RPG Power House and a FPS Power House, as a first attempt I'm rather impressed with the direction they are going.

Hopefully in the future they can streamline some of the small flaws the engine has, as well as incorporate a non-linear world design.

And no, PC gaming is not dead. Kids with their Xboxes and Nintendo Wii's really have no idea how much control over graphical quality, load times and play speed a PC gamer has, considering you can set up a PC rig with 50times more power than the limited expandability of a console. But then again, I'm just a game artist for the second largest Online Game company in the world...what do I know.
