Multiplayer Skyrim Should be added.

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 7:20 am

Im excited about this MOD being made.

Bethesda should have done this from the start.

I love skyrim but after beating it I want to quest with my friends with the new MODs being designed and overall I prefer multiplayer games then single player due to the fact that I can play with my friends or at least as an option if I choose to.

Multiplayer has a huge benefit with the modding community to make worlds, dungeons, caves and towns to explore with my friends and have a overall better experience, not to mention sales would soar even more if the option was there.

Something is missing from Skyrim and its the ability to play with other fellow gamers. Time to consider implementing this into your games or at least a developers option to allow this if the player wishes so.

The collect 20 of x quests, tileset reusing dungeons, and bland npcs, loot, and story are already kind of like an MMO. :yuck:

Sad that it is not added. It makes me wonder then why this is not a priority with the construction set. I build MODs and been frankly great at it. Uploading to Nexus and feedback has been amazing but it is lacking from my MODs the ability to add other players to the mix of things. I digress it needs to be added eventually. By in house or out of house.

In all seriousness though, I think multiplayer is best kept away from an epic adventure game like Skyrim. Multiplayer just isn't needed for a game of this scale.

EDIT: I just read that you prefer multiplayer games to singleplayer games. Well, you knew from the beginning that the Elder Scrolls has always been exclusively singleplayer.

God forbid the day RPG's become multiplayer games.Could really see a long narrative/character driven RPG being multiplayer game?Hell no leave multiplayer to the Call of Duty and MMO crowd.

Exactly, if you don't like singleplayer games, don't play TES. It doesn't need multiplayer, it's better as a singleplayer game, adding multiplayer would make the singleplayer aspect less fun.

I wouldn't want any of Bethesda games to become a mulitplayer and if you want to discuss mulitplayer in any TES game use this thread http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1320106-official-tes-multiplayerco-op-thread/

How would this work? You use your best armor from SP and fight in an arena? Several people all are in one world? People make towns and stuff to share?
None of these would work because almost all quests have unique bonuses and have one person as the "master". Multiple listeners?

MP just wouldn't work with skyrim.

I love how everyone took my message and was LIKE NOOOOOO or it would ruin my game HURR HURR or look at skyrim online by google... You might want to read the repost but just to help calrify.. I said it should be the option of the player such as a developer switch. Its up to you to choose. Kinda like god mode... I mean its there but its your choice to use it or not... and yes I did mention that I am aware of the Skyrim online. I feel the internet white knights of derps and hurr hurr on the prowl. Relax your game isnt going to change the way it is. *rolls eyes.. The idea is to play with other friends for the fun of a Modders POV.. Trust me im not thinking a WOW Arena clone and PVP servers or some ModernWarefare style idea. This is the ability to connect to other plays and have a dungeon delve game night... I digress neverwinternights 1 and 2 did this greatly. To bad SkyR does not.

I have no problem with TES eventually becoming multiplayer or having some spinoff, where you can have a Thalmor war.

One thing I don't understand about the requests in this game specifically is that the WHOLE GAME is about being dragonborn. You know, like you're a little unique snowflake that the supreme divine blessed out of everyone else. It's a typical "chosen one" sort of story. How does multiplayer play into this? Do we take away shouts then? Because you can't have a bunch of dragonborns running around Skyrim. I'd suggest just getting the multiplayer fix elsewhere. It's not like the game has the greatest combat for multiplayer anyways.

I digress Korr its an option id like to see happen but its the MOD community that makes me want a multiplayer portion. I always have NWN2 to handle more complex MP RPG games. However after what 120hours of playing you pretty much have done all you can with this game and now with the Construction set being released its just not fun playing alone with such a beautifully done game, and having construction knowledge since Fallout 3 ive kinda been wanting a game like this to use my Mods and other mods to make a Epic game world me and my friends could play in. Its all about options. I have to laugh at the fa nboys about how they think this would ruin there game. Really just bringing this up makes them scream. LOL.

Multiplayer would be a fun addition, if they did it right.

But I honestly doubt they'd be able to fit it into Skyrim without a massive rewrite of the engine.

If a guy can do Skyrim Online mod and get a basic princible of connecting other players down pat I doubt it would require a rewrite of a whole game.

I would like to add my no to this topic: NO.

We did read your OP carefully. Unfortunately adding multiplayer to a game is not as simple as allowing more than one person into the game, it changes everything. Just about every aspect of the game would have to be looked at and changed and in many ways not to the advantage of the single-player game.

There are enough multi-player games out there, from co-op to MMO's, please allow those who like a single-player experience to have at least one game that doesn't have the spectre of multi-player hanging over it.

MP would not make sense in any of the TES games thus far as stated above. However if they decided to make a new game with a different story where the player was not a chosen one type hero but maybe something like all the empires are gearing up for war and you get to choose your side for the fight, now that would be fun I think.

Also I noticed that you use the word Digress a lot and it just doesn't make any sense the way you are using it. I suggest looking up the definition.

I understand the obsession with multiplayer, but i don`t understand why some refuse to see how it tends to ruin the spirit of the game. people stop playing the way it was intended and start doing all sorts of stupid things. some of the worse is the rampant cheating, then hacking, then insults that range from extreme swearing to extreme racism to all sorts of bad angst.

Why do people want to ruin a single player game so they can be constantly called `cheaters` for fairly beating another opponent?

Stop saying I digress. It doesn't make you sound more intelligent.

A spin off "Arena" would be fine. Online Skyrim not so much.
