Music For Skyrim!

Post » Sat Jul 21, 2012 8:32 pm

While I have differing views on what an RPG is, Skyrim works OK, not nearly as good a Daggerfall (my favorite for RPG of all of the TES games) or Morrowind, or to a lesser extent, even Oblivion. What keeps me looking at Skyrim is the physical world it offers, it is amazing to look at. I wish Daggerfall could have this look, think about that! Anyhow, I love the original music in Skyrim, but there are far too few tracks. I modded Oblivion's music into Skyrim and I actually find it more fitting to Skyrim than it was to Oblivion. IMO, Oblivion has the best soundtrack of all of the TES games.

Skyrim's ST is great, but is far too few for tracks. Literally, you can hear the same track while roaming the world every 4 times! Oblivion's tracks were also awesome, but they had many. After listening to them in Skyrim, it made the Skyrim experience better, as it seemed to fit more with the changing landscapes and the music changed when you entered different areas.. All my opinion of course.

I love the original music in Skyrim,

It does use some tracks from morrowind though. In the other TES games they never recycled some soundtracks. And oblivion had my favorite OST out of all the TES games.

Nothing will replace Morrowind's music in my affections. But for me Oblivion's music comes a very close second. I absolutely love it that Bethesda included a Morrowind track in Skyrim. By now I've heard it more times than I can count and it still gets me every time.

I agree, I enjoyed Oblivion's music and Skyrim's was quite impressive when I first heard it. But every time I turned on Morrowind as the music started and the screen lit up, I was transported to another world. I haven't played Morrowind probably since Oblivion came out. I heard it's music in a youtube video the other day and it still just has that affect.
