So, yesterday I had to reformat my pc, then reinstall every thing. So I now have a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro x64. After installing New Vegas, I noticed that I have no music. No main title theme, no radio. Nothing. So I uninstalled New Vegas, then reinstalled it thinking it was a bad install. But, here I am again, no music.

I can hear all the other sounds. NPCs talking, guns blazing, but NO music of any sort. This is a vanilla install, no mods yet and with only Classic pack installed. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd start by looking at my codecs. Did you install any codec packs? If so try removing them, if not, try installing one like http://www.cccp-project.net/ or http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm. You may have to remove the ffdshow that they install, or just choose not to install it during the install cause it's known to cause probs with Fallout.

Yea, no codec packs installed. I know the reason now. I had originally installed Windows 7 Pro x86, but I bought the x64 version recently, which I installed. Now this wouldn't normally be an issue, however, the x64 version is an N edition, to which I found out it has NO Windows media.

So now I'm stuck trying to find out what to do next.

Ok, I installed CCCP and that did not fix my issue. Will try installing the Windows Media Pack from Micro$oft and see if that helps.
