Myths of Sheogorath

Myths of Sheogorath is a book with three stories. In the story "Sheogorath and King Lyandir", we read that 'Sheogorath . . . appeared to the king in his dreams as a field of flowers, each with arms instead of petals and the face of the Madgod in the center' and that, subsequently, 'from that day forward, every child born in the city was born into madness.'

But in the next story, "The Contest of Wills", we read that a wizard named Ravate 'hadn't slept for fear of Sheogorath invading his dreams. (Which was foolish, as dreams are the domain of Vaermina, may She grant us Restful Sleep.) '

So, if it's foolish to think that Sheogorath can invade dreams (because they are the domain of Vaermina), the myths seem to conflict. Yes, they're just myths, but I think it's strange that two myths sitting next to each other in a book are inconsistent with each other. I don't think the inconsisencies between the stories are a result of the Myths of Sheogorath being a compilation of different people's stories, because Mymophonus is cited as the sole author of both stories.

Don't you get the author was blessed by madness of the Madgod himself.

I wouldn't mind if Sheogorath was in my dreams. Getting the... Wobbledygook thing was fun and he seemed like a jolly fellow.
