Mzulft Aedome puzzle

Okay, I know what I need to do, I've seen the YouTube video which makes it look ridiculously simple, but for the life of me I cannot get the beams to line up correctly. What is the trick? Someone coach me through, I'm losing my [snip] mind.

These are the times that make me wish violence could solve all problems.

I usually move down to under the lenses, then fire a fairly solid burst of frost whatever at the concentrator lens. This slides the beams almost "flat". Then go up to the buttons, and move each rotating circle around until the reciever lenses are hit by the beams (sometimes I get lucky, and the first time is right - other times I have to repeat several times....)

It took me a while to figure out, all I can suggest is using dual wielding flame and frostbite. For me it took alot of frostbite use to get the beams into alignment THEN use the ugh controls to get each reflector into place :)

Yep, I managed to do it by nudging the beams as close to the center of the "bands" around the ceiling as I could, then going up and fiddling with the reflectors. It took me a while to get it right, though.

Why not? I found that using the low level spells I had to be right underneath the sphere, which meant I couldn't target the lens and nothing at all was happening.

I also found this to be the case... Even though you can't stand in one place to both cast the spell and see what the effect is, if you use anything stronger than Flames and Frostbite, you don't have enough precision to get them in the right place.

I've always had to do this from underneath the sphere and lenses. I've never used anything other than the lowbie spells, you have to "wiggle" around some to get at the right spot, but it's worked every time (even the first time - which took me a lot longer because I had to figure all that out....)

Yup. I tried Flames once the first time, and all it did was put the beams back to "default". Bad idea. Never used it again.

Okay, switching from Ice Spike to Frostbite did the trick.

Holy rash of Peyirite.

Thank you for the help.

Just pick one beam and get it lined up on a band, the rest will usually follow. then you push the buttons at the top to turn the bands until the spot meets the beam.
Whew, i made that sound painful. sorry.

I just moved the lenses until one was touching one of the rings, then went up to the controls and got that light picked. Once it's selected, it won't move again. Just repeat the other two.
