Hey guys, I have a couple of questions for you, hope you can help me out here.
I was wondering if there was a chance to change the name of a character (maybe in Dawnguard?), mostly to "manage" savegames better (I always start off a basic save, right after helgen, to have my char set up for everything, so every friggin savegame has the same name. Since I want to start a paladin and an archer at the same time, this can get difficult to manage)
Second, a thing I asked some time ago, and I was looking for some further info: as I explained shortly above, I have a basic save, that I am using since 1.2 I think, right after helgen.
What I want to know is, since the save, as I said, is pretty old, if the new patches apply to said savegame. In other words, if I get the fixes in this save, or if I should create a new one now.

If your on PC open the console and type "showracemenu". You can change your character and give a new name. If not, then no you can't change the name.

Normally patches should carry through in your current saves, but for stability issues it might sometimes be better to start a new game, especially if you come from the very start to the 1.6 patch.

Yeah, about naming: it is good that you can write your name, but the game should be able to offer some random generated names, based on six and race.

Maybe running around as a female khajiit named Olaf Grayman.

the only time you can change your name is at the very beginning when changing it from "prisoner"

start fresh with a new character with new name to make sure the patches are all in, sometimes an old save will bug more...all problems solved
