Naming A Khajiit

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 11:31 pm

Well after my first playthrough of Skyrim I've decide to start a new with a difference, I want to be a cat... I have been messing around in character customization for awhile now and have made quite a beasty looking Khajiit and now I have to decide on a name and that's my problem, I never really played as any other species in elder scroll games and I'm not very up to date on Khajiit names.

But I know that I'm going to be a thief/assassin... well all round bad guy but trying to decide on a name is tough, I have done some research...

Dar = Thief, clever
Do = Warrior
Dro = Grandfather/Grandmother
J/Ja/Ji = Bachelor, Young advlt
Jo = Wizard, Scholar
M/Ma = Child, Apprentice, also used to imply virginity
Qa = Unknown
Ra = Shows Status
Ri = Status, often tribal leader
S = advlt

I think these are what the Khajiit put at the Beginning of their names (titles) so I imagine it should start with Dar'______.

So if anyone has any info on Khajiit it would be most appreciated!
Also post your names and race of your characters may as well make a discussion of this!

The 200 year old virgin. Beats Edward Cullen by a century.

Assuming you've got your information from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit_Names, you can use any of the many names from that page.

You would be correct good sir, bit alas I think a few other ideas and a bit of sparkling creativity could create a much better name!

Be as creative as you like. How about Do'Vah? :D

You can do it how you want, play with words or take a beginning that matches what your own pre-story is.

lol... I was having problems with naming my kajiit... I was going down the route of naming my kajiit a traditional name... Until I said f it an gave him a background story with the name of Kitsune. Which is fox in Japanese, but the name i used is in context or reference to how foxes are sly and sneaky. Also very smart creatures.

Basically it's your game name him/her what you feel fits your character!

Translate something like

"Poops-in-Softest-Sand"

or

"Uncontrollable-Bladder-Cat-Beast"

Makes me wish we had a dog beast race.

Mine haven't been very creative. Syrio Forel and Nymeria. Cookies for people that know the references.

No but remember she named the dire wolf Nymeria after the warrior queen who founded Dorne. Also if TES needs Faceless Men!

Didn't recall that tidbit. Currently reading them all over again so i can refresh myself before diving into the new one. Agreed on Faceless Men, and a special ingredient alchemy potion for the Tears of Lys. I like games more when they throw in a reference or two.

I don't remember where they EXACTLY first reference it. But in a couple of places they mention the founding of Dorne. I know part of it is when some exposition is given on why Dorne is not as patriarchal as the rest of Westeros.

I have a habit of naming stealthy khajiit characters "Dar'Rajah" - especially if they're destined to become head of the thieves' guild or equivalent factions!
