Well after doing quest after quest for the ncr and being idolized by them, i went to continue the "for the republic" quest line. So after doing a task associated with the brotherhood, i went to turn the quest into the that Moore chick at hoover dam. Unfortunately this is where the trouble started, i decided to fast travel over there, and all of a sudden upon loading i see all these red marks on my compass. Turns out, every single NCR is hostile to me now, even though i was just idolized by them. Upon looking at the info that stated my standing with them it reported me as neutral...after all the [censored]in quests ive done for them im now neutral? Yet they attack me? so i loaded back quick traveled around and sure enough every single spot with ncr are hostile towards me.

So this is where i decided to try to disguise myself as an ncr ranger hoping that would solve the problem. Unfortunately to no avail, mainly because i cant get into the lucky 38 building where i kept my ncr ranger outfit..why you ask? because now the game crashes every 30 seconds after loading a game in, it'll crash in transit to the place, itll crash on loading a new cell, itll crash upon opening my pipboy even.

my only solution i can think of is to add an ncr outfit through the console, hoping that i can get into hoover dam disguised and turn in my quest, hoping that will fix it...but thats just hoping that the game doesnt crash along the way.


does anyone else problems like this? 'cause i am sure as hell not reloading a previous save from a couple hours back.

p.s. the game never prompted me about doing something wrong to be villainized by the ncr, i dont even think there would be anyone in the brotherhood of steel place to kill that would cause the ncr to be hostile towards you.


im sure im not the only one getting the wtf moments

after adding a ncr uniform and about 5 crashes later, i was successful in turning in the quest, unfortunately upon taking off the disguise every ncr person became immediately hostile towards me, even though im now stuck at a neutral rating with them....

I've had the same problem with the NCR turning hostile towards me despite an "idolized" rating (no trouble with the crashing). I am definitely not wearing faction armor when it happens, I've tried it with literally nothing on. When wearing NCR armor, they don't bother me, but as soon as I take it off the shooting starts. It seemed to start for me after completing the "eyesight for the blind" quest. I also noticed that even though I have a "vilified" rating with Caesar's Legion, random legionaries are yellow on my compass and behave neutral towards me. Can't help but wonder if they're connected. I've noticed this problem a couple times on the forums but very few answers--anyone have any ideas?

Just to be sure-

Brotherhood power armor is also considered faction armor.

To make sure I'm completely clear about faction armor, I have tested it with no armor at all on and it still occurs.

I'm having this issue now. Has anyone seen anything that helps? All NCR are hostile to me now, and the only quest I really have left is to go see Moore at the Dam.

I think it's a bug related to receiving NCR infamy if you get them to have a truce with the brotherhood. The infamy isn't a bug though, hostility is. Maybe wait for three days and go back?

Well I know legion's WILL attack on site after the first encounter with one of the squads, Its all odd how hostile system works.

Same thing here. Looks like it happens after visit to Great Khans in my case.

That happened to me at my last game when I was natural with the NCR. It all started after I done the quest in Boulder City. Kill all the Khans and got the hostages out. When my character was inside she tried the Khans armour and she put her leather armour on after before going outside. When she was passing the trooper by the memorial there was a red make and it was him. All the NCR was hostile at my character but they wear marked as natural on the map. Even Boone was attacking them as well even though he fought with them. If my charcter kill the NCR Boone get up me for killing them. I have to start a new game after the patch.
