Auuugh...I typed out a massive response, but my broadband connection dropped out...
No issue....
Basically, has anyone seen their training in the game?
Washouts occur due to psych potential more than physical ability...true fact. Only 2% of people without psychopathic issues are able to kill and live with it...without undergoing long term psych problems.
My grounding for saying this? 30+ years law enforcement and military work including 10 years special forces (whatever that term is worth, including 5 years intense operations as part of the spec. ops work), five confirmed and legal kills, and 10 years study into the effects of combat on people, including a. Mass shooting incidents (Columbine/Port Arthur type situations); b. Training requirments in relation to killing someone; c. and psychologically recovering someone after a 'kill incident'.
Comparing Bitter Springs to the SS? Mmmmm....which village in Russia would you like me to compare? Or France, Yugoslavia, Belgium, Holland, or even Germany (yes, it did happen...)...or perhaps My Lai might be more to your taste...(Google 'William Calley'...)
Every bit of evidence that you can possibly obtain in FONV suggests that Bitter Springs was an accident.
NCR Rangers were originally an anti-slavery movement, which was later incorporated into NCR military. There is ZERO evidence to suggest that they have ever acted as death squads.
Finally, is there any evidence that the Rangers participated in Bitter Springs? All the data I obtained pointed to First Recon and regular troops.
Does anyone know how the Mojave Rangers started out? Is there any data about their prior to their unification with the NCR Rangers?
