Yes, I know that their ammo depends on what guns they have... that's not what I asked. What I am asking is how long does it take for the game to restock them with ammo after I pick-pocket it?

I'm curious about this too.

More so because I have never actually seen the Veteran Rangers respawn. Not anywhere. Not even after a week of game time.

And the ones who *have* been around for my murderin' pleasure? They have *never* carried .45-70 ammo.

Well, the one ranger stationed at station alpha has .45-70 ammo and cases. You can kill him for the armor without any rep loss or anything if you do it with a sniper rifle.

There are probably 7-8 veteran rangers at camp golf. Half of them (about) have .45-70 ammo and cases, although it is HARD to steal it. Save before each attempt. They also have brush guns and ranger sequoia's on them sometimes.

They also tend buddy around in packs, or around the normal rangers... so you have to do some work to stay hidden. They hang around the cafeteria in the resort, in the entrance, near the beds, upstairs, etc. There are also 2 rangers near the tents that sit in the chairs where the table is sometimes. Also, there are rangers that go back and forth between the tent and the resort.

Also, if you loot the footlockers, you can get several chances at .45-70 gov't.

All in all, you'll get about 100 rounds of this ammo with some effort. It's not the fastest way to get the ammo, but you'll get it.

I have found the rangers do eventually restock the ammo, but it sure as hell took awhile.

I also want to know if the ranger I killed at station alpha will resurrect. If so, that's one more target to loot.

Rangers respawn. I always go to the same ranger outpost for their armor.

Take a silent weapon to Camp Golf, there are ranger vets everywhere inside the compound on the hill and at least in my game they're mostly armed with the .45-70 pistols.
