NCRCF Reputation - baffled

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 11:20 pm

So, I became vilified with the Powder Gangers before getting to the NCRCF. Wearing a costume lets me talk to Dawes, but after I pay him off, he still goes hostile.

Ok, so I figure, lets cheat. Using setreputation, I make myself idolized by the PG.

No dice. Dawes still goes hostile.

I am assuming some other flag is getting set when I went vilified that setreputation isn't fixing.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I believe you have to side with Jeb (?) in Goodsprings and take over the town so that as you approach the prison you don't kill any Powder Gangers and can then do the quests there..... my guess.

1. Crouch
2. Snipe Dawes
3. Put on Uniform
4. Walk into NCRCF like you own it
5. ???
6. Profit!

Yes, but I would like to do the few quests in there, and all the "major" NPCs go aggro on me.

Were you in the uniform when you used the cheat? That may be the problem, because doesn't the costume reset your reputation to neutral until someone sniffs you out anyways?

This is a bug that has already been reported.

If your repuation with the Powder Gangers is "villified", and you put on any powder ganger outfit to disguise yourself when you approach the facility, bribe Dawes to get in, he and all the named NPCs in the facility will become hostile.

Actually you can skip the Goodspring fight entirely by not talking to Ringo and goto the NCRF first.

Finish their story (either betray them or help them) then come back and finish Goodspring's story.

Did anyone try to steal Dawes' key? I did that to enter NCRCF. You do not have to kill him.

I have the same problem. So now, me and Boone have been sniping the powder gangers.

What is odd is that altering the Powder Gangster reputation via the console doesn't work around this problem ....

I was able to return my Reputation for the Pwder Gangs to a three "merciful thug" by completing the Fire Geckos mission for Cooke at Vault 19. When I entered the vault I was already Vilified by the Powder Gangers, but I left Boone outside and had no challenge with any of the gang inside attacking me. Boone seems to set alot of enemies off if he is with me, so I often have to leave him behind in certain areas.

I actually figured that the REASON for this "bug" was that because it clearly states that GUARDS AND DOGS will see right through your disguise.

So, when you first talk to Dawes, he stops you before you even step past the gate. He ONLY goes hostile once you are within 1-2 feet of him. I figure that's him going, "wtf? Wait a minute..."

I actually consider it a bigger bug that you can snipe Dawes, take his key, and waltz in to start the quests, no questions asked. The Ganger leader will actually say, "Yeah, Dawes said he let someone in." Did he now? Cuz he wasn't talking about ME. ;)
