Nearly everyone in New Vegas has the same voice

I did some digging and i found out that Yuri Lowenthal voices a lot of the characters. It sounds annoying and creepy. What do you think?

Yeah, not a huge variety in the voices... bugs me a little here and there, nothing major.

The voice acting is much, much more varied than both Oblivion and Fallout 3.

It was worse in Oblivion and not much better in Fallout 3.

I really haven't noticed anything too obvious in Fallout: New Vegas. Feels like they used a few more actors, but I haven't compared the credits in the two different games. In Oblivion, it felt like there were only 3 voice actors and they were all extremely distinctive which made it really obvious.

I noticed it on my first play through. A huge portion of characters in the game share the same voice, just different variations of it. I wouldn't mind if everyone in the NCR had the same voice actor because that would make sense since they are all originally from the same region. But the same guys voice does the entire game. With the rare exception to a few voices such as veronica or cass.

Okay, lets hire 2,200 voice actors to have every NPC have unique voices and a mediocre at best game.

Learn to appreciate trade offs. Personally I enjoy the VA in the game, especially Doc Mitchell and Mr. House.

I like the FNV voice acting, its much more varied than in F3, in my opinion. Its one of the main differences I've noticed so far between the two. Of all the things to criticise FNV for, this is one of the last I would choose.

Or just have each of the devs, QA, artists, production staff, etc., all voice a couple of lines for the random and generic characters. Save on $$ for the VA, sure it'll take up disk space, but throw a 2nd disc in, problem solved. :P

In my opinion I don't want more voice actors because that is money well spent elsewhere and there is enough variation to suit me. Hire writers not more voice actors.

I've only had it bother me a couple times. The big one is the old lady from Primm (Mojave Express guy's wife), she's an old lady and has a suitable old lady voice. There's a roving trader that is not old that has the exact same voice, and the same greetings.

But like has been said, it would be a colossal expenditure to have every character have a voice actor. Working people that worked on the game in could work, but it's not a big enough thing for me.

Some of us console users dont take kindly to multiple discs.

HAHAHA and let me say..HA! You are assuming they actually spent their money WELL. They could have spent their QA budget on hokers and weed for all we know, which might explain a lot of the complaints and issues that have been plaguing the forums since its release.

Or it could just have to do with trying to meet the deadline on time.

I think the voice acting is fine, and i dont really notice the same voices much maybe on some NPC's but most of them are pretty good.. Also if you ever played fallout 3 you would notice it was like that on every charrector... Specially the ghouls and the old guy... i hated that...

At least on this game you alot more variety and im not complaining at all.

I love how people are now saying, "Like a broken Ipod."
Instead of, "Like a broken record."

When I would finish talking to an NPC and I try to talk again, their voices change to a higher pitch.

I think the voice acting is a lot better in New Vegas - far less annoying than Amata, Three-Dog, Moira, etc. The ghouls in Fallout 3 all sounded exactly the same but I don't get that from this one.

And didn't the npcs in Fallout 3 used to [censored] at you for knocking stuff over and looking at items with red text? Happy to see that go.

Here's an even more extreme view: Voice only important, quest related dialogue and leave the rest as text only. Saves money and improves the level of writing

I thought the amount of generic voice actors they hired was perfect for a game of this scale. The voice acting is of high quality, too. I can't say either of those are the same for FO3.

Tech has advanced. They can now make the voices sound diffrent with little editing, also they had more actors and actress too.
