Necromage

Just a quick question, I know that the Necromage perk also boosts damage against things like draugr when using destruction magic. But I was curious if this boost also applies to shouts, scrolls, and/or enchanted weapons.

I would say that if it didn't say so in the description, then no. BTW, what category is this Necromage perk in? I'm practicing Necromancy and already have the Necromancy perk in the Conjuration category.

I am about 99% sure that it applies to any magic effect from any source, when the target is flagged as undead.

It's in Restoration.

Have to wonder if the extent of this perk is intended. It may get patched at some point.

Thanks, I'll look into activating that one. I do agree with you in wondering if they intended for this perk to go beyond the effects Destruction magic. I was just thinking since it stated in the description something about Destruction magic only, that it wouldn't enhance the other schools of magic along with it.

Shouts are magic, so it might work?

Ive also read that healing spells on yourself (if you're a vampire) are improved, as you are labeled as undead :)

I absolutely maxxed out my Alchemy/Enchanting/Smithing loop, yet after becoming a Vampire with the Necromage perk I was able to use Smithing to improve my gear even more, because the Necromage perk has an effect on my 'Fortify Smithing' enchantments on my set of Smithing gear. Was this intended?

I would call it an side effect, Necromage makes all your magic more effective against undead. The enchantment on your gear counts as "your magic" Its simply how its programmed. The third component is being a vampire makes you count as undead. So I doubt they planned to have necromage boost the equipment of vampire characters but its simply how it worked out.

Correct.
It works on anything the game considers a magic effect.

This is why a vampire necromage's enchantments and potions are more powerful.

Yes, it applies to shouts as well. There are some crazy things you can do with an Amulet of Talos when you are a necromage vampire. Stay Ethereal, spam Elemental Fury with no cooldown, etc.
