I need all of you to help me.

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 5:56 pm

To this day, I have repeatedly switched sides back and forth between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials. This has caused my friends great annoyance, as they just want me to decide. The problem is I see both sides. I'm a Bosmer (always) so I feel out of place with the Stormcloaks and they aren't the biggest elf fans in the world. But I believe in their cause more so than I do the Empire's. So this is it. No turning back. I need you, my fellow Elder Scrolls fans, to give me points and counter-points, and I will decide accordingly. I would truly appreciate your assistance :)

Youve already given your own views.

You believe in the stormcloak's cause. That is your answer.

Do YOU believe in the Stormcloak's cause, or does your character? There are some non-Thalmor Altmer in Windhelm who are pretty happy with their living conditions since they actually pull their weight, so you could be like them I guess.

I suppose when it comes down to the wire it is that simple. I just worry about what will happen to Valenwood were the Empire to fall. Following my heart and joining the Stormcloaks could endanger my people.

What a perfect answer! I couldn't agree with this more. I had an entire paragraph come to mind as I was reading down the thread, but you summed it up with one simple sentence. :tops:

I am a bosmer too. Stormcloaks dont like you. I side with Imperials. I hate their cause LESS than the stormcloaks.

You should go to Ivarstead, there you will find a nice Wood-Elf that has something to say about choices.

When I play my character's have my opinions, so it's pretty much the same. Good question though.

It is kind of a Jewish Nazi in 1940. I'm pretty sure hitler was the only one of those..

But still let's not mention that in a video game forum, please. There's no need.

I really don't see why your character would join the stormcloaks. I mean if you really look at it they don't like your kind, and the Empire is the better bet as to who will be able to defeat the Thalmor and help your people.

Many Nords don't like Elves, stormcloaks just want to "free" their land of anybody, they don't necessarily particularly hate elven kind. With my 1st elf character (dark elf to be precise who they should hate the most because of their history) while joining the Stormcloaks Ulfric and his 2nd in hand man themselves stated they don't care what race you are, just that you fight for the right reasons. I fully support them and Imperials disgust me. :P

But that's my opinion, maybe you should visit both places, talk to some people and weigh it out.

My opinion on both sides after many playthrough's and talking to many NPC's.

Imperial's have always been the peace keepers, and even in the opening minute of the game the stormcloak your with on the wagon tells you how safe he once felt knowing that the Imperials were watching out for them. To me it sounds like people were fine with the Empire up until the war with the Thalmor. When they saw they would certainly lose to the Thalmor they had to make a tough decision. Either negotiate to retain control of what they have, or fight until the Thalmor completely invade and destroy every aspect of their way of life along with thousands of people.

The Stormcloaks to me seem to be very ignorant and intolera.. well downright racist.
Its like none of them understand anything about how politics work and are fighting to preserve the "Old ways" of Nords.
They are mad about the ban on Talos worship which was a concession in a treaty to stop the Thalmor from invading... but the Stormcloaks dont care, they want to overthrow the government structure currently in place in Skyrim not giving any damn what will happen when they win.

Also, the "Old way" of Nords seems to be hating Elves.. a lot.
They murdered the Snow Elves to take their land.

If I'm not mistaken the Bosmer are with the Aldmeri Dominion, so RP-wise you should join the Empire. But still, if you believe you are a nord at heart you can join the Stormcloaks.
Personally, I wanted to join the Stormcloaks with my Dunmer, but after I visited Windhelm and witnessed how Dark Elves were treated I chose to remain neutral

Neither as a bosmer you are part of the dominion to cause either side victory as against the wish of the thalmor and by extension the dominion, if you're on of those elves that rebel against the dominion (Like Malborn for example) then join either side it doesn't matter you're rebelling against the dominion so maybe you'll help your fellow rebels, on the other hand valenwood used to be part of the empire before thalmor seize it.

Yea but they were sized by the Thalmor, it not like the Bosmer were all waiting with opened arms for them.
