Empty speculation and non-sequiturs aside, there does not appear to be an actor value for an intimidate modifier, nor is an intimidation bonus listed as an attribute of any piece of armor, either in the game, or in SkyEdit. It is still possible that such a bonus exists, but it would need to be re-calculated from hidden\unknown variables every time it is read.
On the other hand, NPCs do have an actor value (Confidence) which helps determine their propensity to flee in battle. The A.I. seems to compare this with a check of the player's stats (Health\Stamina\Magicka) when evaluating its chance to defeat the player. This can be demonstrated with the console by comparing the behavior of NPCs with unmodified and artificially inflated player stats. If resistance and damage reduction are factored in that evaluation, then Daedric armor would indirectly influence the NPC's confidence check and the same or similar may be passed along with speech during intimidate checks.
Not sure what makes Eps say it's based on the value of your gear but I suppose that's possible too, since that could be a good internal estimate of its quality and enchantments.. Could be tested with SkyEdit. Whatever the case, the only way to conclusively answer your question is with either a debugger or some very thorough naked\daedric bully tests.
