Need Deathmatch

Rage is a great game, it looks great, and it plays great. If there is any game that was made for a deathmatch multiplayer it was rage. I am positive that if they would have made a deathmatch mode in multiplayer that it would sell a lot more and would have a multiplayer community that sticks around. I think it would be so good it would attract a bigger online community than every other game other than COD and Battlefield. Instead they chose an alternate route and no offense but this multiplayer gets old very quick. It won't keep people around for very long, they will be the campaign, move to multiplayer for a couple of hours and that will be it, the end of Rage.

I haven't even bought the game, I wanted to until I heard about its lackluster multiplayer modes. So instead I just play my friends copy of Rage, and it's awesome but it is missing a key component. Tell me if you agree. ID I hope that in your next game that you will fix this problem, you did everything but multiplayer right.

I agree. not including deathmatch, team deathmatch, ctf and all that was a terrible idea. i'll end up playing through the campaign once more and then i'll play other games.

Deathmatch would be a nice addition. The campaign is enjoyable, but I do not see myself playing it more than once right now. The multiplayer racing modes are fun but become old after a while.

Although as with most good games, i'll revisit Rage from time to time as the years go by.

And deathmatch doesn't?!

Just what we need,a dumbed down game mode to taint a great game.

Besides, you think you've heard complaining about textures and such, how do you think it would be for TDM?

You want your TDM,there's always COD to play.

Indeed, this needs deathmatch or something comparable. It's nice to be able to race and the like - but since that's not the main component of the game...feels kinda forced.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and see if that will be a DLC in the future.

Yes there is always COD, but COD is getting old and I don't like Activision, Treyarch, Infinity Ward etc. I think they should have had both normal deathmatch modes as well as there racing car combat modes to add in some variety. With such a good first person shooter I just wish there was some shooting in multiplayer.

Textures are fine for me. It actually runs well on my system.

It would not be CoD that I'd go play, it would be Quake. Id's iconic deathmatch game that pioneered the FPS genre.

and rage wouldn't get old if it supported TDM, CTF, etc...

those multiplayer modes get old way fast, in every fps that supports those modes. how can anyone say that TDM wouldn't get old in RAGE?

If BioShock 2 can do it successfully, I don't see how a game such as RAGE that in which lacks story whatsoever couldn't do it. You see, BioShock 2 was so linear and I've got a lot of enjoyment out of it. And despite 95% of their efforts (obviously I'm exaggerating) was used on the single player experience. They ended up adding a pretty solid multiplayer mode with a leveling up system similar to what you see in Call of Duty. The fact that RAGE simply adds a stupid racing gamemode, with their broken / sloppy driving mechanics, is beyond me. Oh yeah, and the little co-op missions.

No I'm not tired of the game modes in COD, I'm just tired of COD, the weapons the graphics, the matchmaking, the connection issues and most of all I'm tired of Activision, Treyarch, Infinity Ward, etc. IMO deathmatch modes would greatly add to the experience of Rage, and like I said you can also have the combat racing element for variety.

Yeah we need some more shoot em' ups... I'm glad they decided to do something different, it's a great change of pace from all the other tdm, ctf, and koth. The only thing I could see interesting would be a Mutant Bash TV team hoard mode. I'm just sick of how many shooters are out there and they sh!t on the single player and campaign modes to give people a virtual option to kill each other.
