I need to defend myself underwater Bethesda

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:23 am

So I'm planning on an argonian playthrough where he will primarily travel in the water vs land. The problem is I have no way to defend myself against slaughterfish. I would really want this mechanic added please!

Hmm,it would be a nice thing to have some kind of underwater combat. But since slaughterfish and mudcrabs are the ony underwater creatures so far...it's on low priority for most people i think. There are still so many other important things that need some attension.

While this may be true it kind of limits modders to expand underwater. If we could have combat underwater modders could add more underwater creatures and possibly make locations underwater like sunken cities, ships, reefs etc. Making the underwater environment just as rich and interesting as the surface.

To make it worthwhile they would need to add more underwater enemies. It was one of the areas I thought was lacking in Skyrim. Huge areas of water with nothing in them except a few measly slaughterfish.

I wouldn't be suprised if Bethesda will bring underwater combat with a DLC/expansion sooner or later. But like i said it's probably very low priority on their "what to add/do list"

Didn't they add some underwater combat stuff in the latest update? Nothing functional yet, but apparently they are working on it.

Would be crazy to take the battle underwater maybe use underwater dragon shouts.

I Think that was a 1 time scripted event, Bethesda doesnt have breakible terrain anywhere in the game without it being scripted for a one off event.

I think underwater combat would be great. Plus it would open the door for bigger, nastier, underwater creatures. Right now the one and only thing in the water is the equivalent to that of a rat or a skeever. In a world where we have Trolls, Orcs, Elves, Giant Spiders, Unicorns (Oblivion), Dragons, Werewolves, Vampires, Goblins, and Ghosts, the Sea of Ghosts (Ocean North of Skyrim) has nothing in it. I understand that because of the lack of underwater combat, Bethesda didn't put anything really threatening in the water. But who says that big creatures in the water have to be threatening, I would mind seeing some peaceful, exotic creature as I swim around in the ocean just for the sake of making the underwater more alive.

I have to resort to getting up on land and casting AoE fireballs into the water until the fishies are dead. Kinda annoying.

I remember first playing Skyrim, and when I first went into the water with a weapon handy I said to myself "Damn, it went Fallout on me!"
