I love dogs, but it's a damn shame having one ruins the game. Nevermind them getting in the way, or the lack of control over then, while a mod for these things would be great, it's not my main problem with them.

Dogs do far too much damage, and remove all sense of difficulty (from what remains anyhow) from the game. Are there any mods to massively reduce the damage dog followers deal? If they were no more effective than the familiar I'd be happy, in fact, even less would be fine. Hell no damage, just distracting enemies would even work.

Changing the damage for the dog shouldn't be too hard. Though, because it would give you the same result, you could always download a mod to increase the difficulty of all NPC's. There are plenty of choices for that on the Nexus.
