I think it would be very cool. But with feutures like defending the fort from raids from bandits, dragons ect with all your followers. They could be recuited for the 'man at arms role' in the same way you recruit new blades members in skyrim. Post your ideas I cant have been the only person to dream this up.

i hope i get my own fort in dawnguard. i really want to defend it from bandits too. the main quest missions where you fought enemies who constantly spawned at the forts were the funnest. i had my two conjured allies, followers, and i used the dragon call voice. best battles ever

You only upgrade the headquarters just like you upgrade a house. I want a big castle with soldiers, maids, servants and a throne room. I want lost of land and a stables and smithy. I want to be the greatest noble in Skyrim.
