If you use computer you can gain back your progress via console.

Just make the exact same character to start and use the console to get your old gear coin and quest progress.

First, what platform you're on would definitely help here.

Second, you don't have any earlier saves that you could revert to?

No, I always have played games like Oblivion and both Fallout 3 and NV. I know all about avoiding bugs by backing up saves.........But somehow all of them have it. :confused:

It is when you shoot someone/something and the arrow leaves the bow, And the enemy just falls down paralyze and my arrow passes above them

I don't think it's a save issue, so you might be ok. But if you really want to make sure, you can make a new character, then try using a bow asap and see if they have the same problem.

I'm saying it's not a save issue because the update shouldn't mess with your saves... so those should be as good as before.

And is it just you? Can Faendal or someone try shooting someone?

I'm not totally sure what you're describing, but it sounds like when you shoot AT someone, they fall over - possibly very quickly instead of a normal animation - and so fast that the arrow itself ends up missing. Something like when kill cams are activated, the game "knows" your shot will kill them if it worked correctly, but the arrow might not actually hit and get stuck in the air next to a corner. So the game "knows" they should be falling over, and the corresponding animation plays, but too early for the arrow to actually knock them over. A few kill cam fixes came out with 1.6, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's going on.

My magic animations have gotten screwed up too (on PC), equipping them makes my character float like in that early Skyrim Online video, but happens randomly.

What's this bow bug you speak of? I've had that issue with bows since 1.5 but it's never corrupted any saves.

I think I described it right then. You should still try making a new character though. See if it really is a save issue. Wasn't there something early on about saves getting too big, and getting performance issues? If that's what it is, it doesn't surprise me that the bug is on a 500 hour save. That might be the case with yours, seems like collision is lagging behind animation.

My mage though... wtf it's only been like 50 hours and I'm getting animations issues too (PC version again). Which might also indicate your save is fine, and it's ONLY the update screwing things up.

well, that's sad, but believe me, starting over is a better feeling than you would imagine. Try roleplaying this time around, restrickt your character to one faction, make a new build for the uppcoming expansion :)

Try clearing your system's cache, deleting the update, and reinstalling the update. That should hopefully clear up some backlogged data from your cache, and maybe straighten out your issue with the bow.

Well it sounds quite bad, but not as bad as corrupted save files... when that happens you can't even load a character

That's fine, you can do cleanups/bug fixes. A save is only data. It's messing with the proprietary hardware/processing architecture that's a no-no.

{OT : 500 hours? How big are your save files? All sorts of weirdness can happen when they get too bloated.}
