I hope this is the right section to post this in. Couldn't find a "tech" forum kinda thing.

I have about 10 tabs open of different headsets and another few tabs trying to explain in about five thousand words what is the difference between all the features. The only real thing I understand is stereo vs 5.1 vs 7.1. Even then, a lot of people have told me it makes a small difference on a headset. I am just so confusd about all this and don't know where to start. People say look at turtle beaches. Is there a way to know easily if the headset works for both xbox 360 and pc? Which ones are exclusive to one or the other? Can anyone recommend some good ones preferably around $150? People even recommend $60 turtle beaches x11 or something as quite sufficient. I'd mainly be using it for xbox games and pc gaming (skyrim, sc2, halo). I'm not sure what's "important" for me. Anything would be an improvement over this ASUS monitor's terrible built in speakers lol. I would like bass and good quality and all that...but I don't really know what to look for. All the specifications for products seem biased and just tell me what's great about them and not what I'm missing out on.

I should also note I need a mic in the headset.
