currently im at hamvirs rest. whats a good route to get to black falls barrow?

Umm, activate the quest, follow the marker. Or do you have the TV problem I did, where the TV cuts off all HUD? By the way, I'm not being sarcastic, that actually happened to me. If you do have the HUD problem, then from Riverwood, take the bridge, and when the path leads 2 ways, go left and follow that path. It's the mountain left of Riverwood. You can't miss it.

Or you could watch the first gameplay video of Skyrim played by todd about 10 different places it will literally give you a step by step through the entire area for all the quests within
