Need help with combining weakness to poisons

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:11 pm

Can someone explain me how weakness to x poisons are exactly calculated.

Let's assume i poison an enemy with weakness to poison (50%), weakness to magic(40%) and weakness to frost(30%).
If let's say a frost rune explodes for 50 damage for how much does the enemy get hit?

I would assume the damage is (1,5*1,4)*(1,5*1,3)*50.

Is it possible to stack poisons with the same effect somehow to further increase the damage?
If it's possible how is that calculated?
For example two weakness to poisons (50% & 60%).
Does it combine as 110% or since they are not applied at the same time 1,5 *1,6.

I think it works like your formula describes, but I'm not 100% sure.

Afaik, you can't stack effects that comes from the same source (ie, "weakness to poison"). I'll guess that the strongest effect will overwrite the weaker one.

I think weaknesses might be capped at like 85% or something. Resistnces are.

Maybe I'm missing something....
Can you explain how you'd be stacking?

I can't apply more than one poison at a time to my bow or weapon. Are you talking about apply poison/take shot/take 2nd shot/apply different poison/place rune, that type of thing?

The only way I've stacked poisons is by making Damage-plus-Ravage poisons.

That's how to do it yeah. Guess you can poison several weapons and cycle through them as well.

Thanks, believe it or not I'd never thought of pre-poisoning bows and hand weapons (unless I know for sure who's on the other side of the door  ), I usually wait for them to unzip first, lol.

You can stack poisons pretty easily by just slapping fresh poison on your weapon and hitting them again before the first one wears off. This works quite well with lingering damage poisons (the damage stacks), but probably not so well with "weakness to" poisons (AFAIK only the largest effect of each type applies). Still, since its impossible to make a poison with both lingering damage and weakness to poison, its not a bad idea to use one and then the other (probably the one with the longer duration first).

One way to test the stacking effects (without using the console to check effects on targets) would be to mix up potions that have "weakness to" side effects. Here's list that includes many such potions near the top: http://209.46.18.232/wiers.us/skyalc/workbench.php?recipes_tab&show=results&7754
