I need immediate help please!

Ok so I just got skyrim and I'm having problems. I can't save and it says "disk unreadable" I just got it and earlier just replaced it. I can download it to my hardrive easily without problems but when I click save in the game it again says "disk unreadable" and it makes it to where I can't continue or load my current character it won't let me play without deleting that character. Please help!

if you got a warranty on it you should be good, if you ddint your screwed.
I know this may sound weird but try washing it with dish soap (idk if it causes damage over a long term but it should make it work)
so do that then see if you like the game then once its gone for good and if you like it get another copy

It happened to me too. If you can, get into the load screen and delete your saves. It should let you play then

I had the same issue, but with another game, and it turned out the xbox disk drive was currupted...I got another xbox and put the 2 yr warranty on it...they said at the store that it wasn't an uncommon problem with the new xboxes.

When you have an older xbox that has seen some use it may be that its disc drive is near the end of its life.

This can cause the problems you are experiencing.
I had the same thing with my old xbox. Simple games like shoot em ups played just fine, but complicated games like Oblivion would either not load at all (disc unreadable) or run very slowly with lots of lag and freezes.

The best thing I can advise you is to have your xbox checked out.

That's not a game problem it's a hardware issue, the drive in your xbox is having bad sectors you better replace it as soon as possible.

Chances are it's the disk drive, not the Hard Drive, even if you installed to the drive. And unless you have a warranty prepare to buy a new Xbox. But you really should anyways. They are pretty cheap and I'm surprised your white one lasted this long.

Should really be in harware/software issues, but anyways......

If it is only when saving, it actually is most likely the HDD and not the disk. I had this issue a while back as well.
Try removing the HDD from the unit and any other flash drives/memory cards. see if you can remove the HDD and make a new game and save it to a memory card/flash drive. I, along with many other people I have helped with the Xbox, have seen this happen before. Most of the time, it is corrupt data on the HDD, not the actual game disk itself.

Try another game, see if it works and will save/load. It is all about isolating the source of the issue at this point. (FYI, I would hold off on calling MS support if you are out of warranty,... they really not be much help, trust me... ( I do tech support for a living).

EDIT: Just re-read your post. Try not saving the game to the HDD. If you can create a new character and load/save all day long, but just cannot on the one character you are referring to, then is definitely corrupt data. Had the exact same thing in Oblivion (strangley enough), after I accidentally dropped my HDD
