Topic/question...

What kind've weapons/armor/etc. can I give Raul to fully take advantage of him? I've heard he doesn't really like Heavy armor, but doesn't mind wearing Medium. But what is his preferred armor-type?

Also, he has his .44 or w/e with him, anyway I can get him to use the Mysterious Magnum or any other kind've pistol?

How do you activate his quest?

And also, how do you get his Petro Chico reinforced suit, and his Vaquero Outfit? I've read up that I have to go talk to NCR members, and i'm aligned with The Legion so i'm PRETTY sure they will more then likely attack me on sight. Anyway around this?

Armor: Black Combat Armor, Authority glasses and Great Khan's Spike Helmet.

Weapons: Marksman Carbine + 1000 rounds of surplus 5.56mm ammo. Machete gladius.

Other: 10 Super Stimpaks.


Quest: Chat with Corporal Sterling, Loyal and Ranger Andy with Raul hanging around as a follower.

He's the best.

I wore some NCR trooper armor and got into McCarran and talked to Sterling.

BUT, now im in Novac TRYING to talk to Ranger Andy, and EVERYTIME I enter his house he starts shooting me...

How or when is this dude NOT hostile?

This, though the Reinforced Petro Chico outfit and Vaquero Outfit depends on what you tell him. Convince him to give up his gun slinging ways = Reinforced petro Chico outfit. Convince him to take up gun slinging again = Vaquero Outfit.


EDIT - Andy usually attacks you if you're aligned with the Legion, even if you're wearing NCR armour. At least in my experience.

Well, now I know if the NCR hate me he attacks me...

Anyway I can just pay off the NCR to stop attacking me?

didn't test anything but in theory his buff is 30 % speed with revolvers and lever action rifles ... so that makes the brush gun a good candidate , dunno if he has good enough strength for a minigun

Besides doing the quest to reset your standing with them? No.

He looks strange to me when he's not wearing his Vaquero outfit.
He's pretty badass. With his attack speed perk (with revolvers and lever actions), he can shoot really fast
The downside to using him is that the only good revolvers or lever actions use rarer or harder to find ammo and he burns through it quick.

Raul is my one and only follower. He rocks a 1st recon beret (manny's), authority glasses, desert ranger armor, survivalist rifle, a ripper, and of course 20 stims. He is a friggin beast with that gun. You can give him any armor (except faction armor) and any weapon so long as its dam and/or dps (forgot which one) is higher than his default.

Oh, and his full maintenance perk is a must for explorers...
