Need instruction on how to transfer my save files before del

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:25 am

Sorry this post may be a repeat but I really needed some help.

Heard from someone that over time as more sidequests are completed the game is prone to freeze when memory builts. One alternative is to wipe out the whole game and re install it. Before that I would have to transfer my save files unless if I wanted to start playing from the beginning.

My problem: how do I transfer the save files ? I'm a game freak but a computer idiot. Can anyone show me how?

Thanks in advance!

The saves are located in C:\Documents and Settings\[name]\My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves

So just copy them.

If you put a usb memory stick it will show up if you use the triangle button on a save file and select copy. Just copy to the usb and then back again. If you don't have a usb, you could just make or use a different user id as a temp copy location. IE.. select copy the save file and then select the second user id as the destination. Then reverse to copy your game save file back to your regular id.

However, you don't need to delete your save files to get rid of the game data and reinstall.

go to the file, press triangle, if you have another profile on your system or a removable storage device it will say "copy to", and select your flavour. you can copy your files from the other profile by logging into it and repeating the above steps. save games will be found under "save data utility", I think. I would suggest the profile thing. some people have copied files to a storage device only to find out it's virtually impossible to retrieve them due to faulty driver device software, etc. so your best bet would be an alternate profile.
