Need Master DiD Advice

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:52 am

Master + Dead Is Dead is really fun.

The tension from exploring (should I risk going in here, or play it safe?) and tough battles (if I make too many mistakes, that's it, no reloading...) make everything infinitely better, and you learn to appreciate every bit of good luck and treasure you happen to come across.

Every action you do matters, and that's why I love it.

My question is, I've heard about some bugs. Such as the Lord Stone's magic resistance not working. Can anyone confirm this? What other bugs are there right now? I'm not running any patches. Just want to make sure my trek to the mountain for the Lord Stone is worth it.

Also, any general advice? So far, a few test runs were ended around the level 9-12 range by massive physical damage, specifically humanoids with two-handers, sabercats and frost trolls. (At this point I've had around 200 health and 150 armor).

Is heavy armor pretty much required? Was thinking Light Armor would be more useful later on with the extra stamina and movement speed.

I'm not an expert or anything, and I only play DiD on Master with Shield+Sword, but with that I ALWAYS pick Light Armor. The reason: less stamina drain, more stamina for running away when needed. With Heavy armor the stamina drains extremely fast(and I think you move slower too).
You can get very high armor rating with Light Armor.

How do you guys do it? I can't get past the first dragon without getting killed at least once!

Alright, thanks, I didn't even see that thread. - - Glad to hear light armor works, cuz heavy looks kinda bad from what I've seen...

Mmm... on the few Master games I've played, I usually just made sure I had a decent bow, upgraded it with smithing, and a lot of pots, then hid inside the tower, shooting at him whenever he landed/hovered. Dreading actually fighting a dragon without a ton of NPCs to help. - -

Oh, that first dragon is easy in my opinion. You kinda get A LOT of help, and he never really focused on me.
Now, the sabercats, frost trolls, two-handed wielding folks, chaurus reapers, Draugr Deathlord Overlord Murderboss....and pretty much everyone on Master(for me at least)...those are tough!
