I need some help with this follower

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:03 pm

According to the Wiki, Derkeethus will equip any clothing I give him. However, he doesn't equip robes. He puts on the hood, but not the robes. Actually, he doesn't equip any clothes I give him. For some reason he prefers his miner outfit. Even when I take that outfit from his inventory, he's still wearing it. So what's the problem? Is there a problem? Is it just how it is or do I need to do something?

By the way, he will equip any armor and head gear that I give him.

With all magic-using followers, or any followers, really, they don't seem to equip any robes you give them. I regularly employ Marcurio, the mage sellsword in Riften, and he equips the circlet, gloves, necklace, ring, boots, and staffs I give him but never any robes. Whether I enchant them myself or I buy the "Master" robes, he doesn't want to use them. I assume it's some sort of glitch and as far as I know, aside from thrilling console things, there's nothing you can much do about it.

Derkeethus will, like any follower who does not start with armor, will gladly wear whatever armor you give him, but he reserves the right to wear his miner digs. He'll wear gloves, hoods, and cowled robes, but unless you put him in armor and pickpocket/buy his outfit, he'll always wear his tunic.

COWLED ROBES! Why did I never think of that....I should just do that from now on. Thanks!

Hooded robes are the only ones I've ever gotten him to wear willingly, I think it's because it counts at a hat or something so it makes him put it on.
