Maybe as a boss, like FO3 BS XD (anyone else noticed that the abbreviation for broken steel is BS?) they had those boss tanks at the military base. But it would be out of place unless they put em in the Big Empty otherwise wont really work well or maybe at the boomer station or HD(hoover dam)

I think those were Chimera tanks from Operation Anchorage, not Broken Steel.

There was a very good mod for fallout 3 that took one of the OA tanks and made it driveable. You can find the video in youtube. It would be cool, but would be buggy as hell, and probly wouldnt do much in NV,as theres not as much combat.

Yes, If the boomers can get a freaking B-29 superfortress in the air, then someone like NCR can certainly get a have a few tanks on the ready.

The boomers pulled a B-29 that had been submerged for 260 years and got in flying in like 2 months. Anyone who says there can t be any tanks is just not thinking. I don t need a tank, but I want NPCs to have a tank once in awhile. I AM A TANK AAAAHHHHHHHHH

This engine probably can t handle vehicles. They would be half underground.

No, they're hard enough to kill in L4D with four people. Can't imagine fighting one in the Mojave solo, would be crazy hard.

In all seriousness, though, I don't think a tank would realistically be something you'd see in the Fallout universe. Most have already probably been picked clean for salvage, and if there were any left running they would likely consume massive amounts of fuel.

We have a large mod currently in progress that will feature tank combat...

Release is still very far away, but keep an eye out...

Well You're suppose to become a tank when you wear the tb-51 power armor. So in some ways a tank becomes obsolete. Also I'm not sure a real life tank would fit into the FO universe BUT maybe they could design something that still had a 50's retro feel to it. IMO FO has to have that retro feel to it. That's what makes fallout.

Put it this way. In the Operation: Anchorage simulation, the player character could, under certain circumstances, punch a tank to death.

I think it's safe to say that their inclusion in the Mojave Wasteland would not be an advantage.

IIRC there were "Chimera" Tanks in the OA DLC of FO3...

Never mind, it's been addressed in previous replies to this thread... :P

Have you seen what one of those Anti-Materiel Rifles can do to a Tank?

Those were not real tanks. They were some kind of US equipment the Chinese were converting into tank like vehicles.

When you get hit with a 120mm round and die, or a big .50 mg starts taking hp out of you like 15 NCR vet rangers were shooting you.....Then you ll know its a real tank.

It actually wasn't even that hard too actually punch the tank in OA to death. Get up close enough that the lasers couldn't get you and just whack away at it until it blew up, not really all that deadly tbh.

It's also suggested that the Chimaeras were in fact added to the simulation by General Chase after the fact, and did not actually ever exist.

The Fallout universe might well not have tanks, because Power Armor more or less makes tanks obsolete.

Well not every country had PA so some tanks would still have been in service.
