Do i need the Elder scroll? : V

Do I need the elder scroll from the MQ and do i need to have any shouts.Thanks in advance.Also if you know any mods I should disable before starting dawnguard can you please tell me thanks :bunny:

You need the Elder Scroll, but you don't need shouts. You don't even have to start the MQ - you can obtain the scroll by going straight to Septimus Signus.
If you sold the scroll, you can buy it back.

I don't know about mods.

You're asking about Septimus, right? He's the guy who points you towards the Elder Scroll in the MQ. I don't want to spoil the quest, so all I can say is: don't worry, when you're asked to retrieve the Elder Scrolls you'll know how to find him.

It seems you've never finished Skyrim's MQ. Why? It's fun

Go straight north of winterhold and find septimus signus' outpost. Do his quest.

I'm at that point myself, but i stopped because in the journal it tells you it's for (don't want to spoil it), but it's for the MQ. WIll that mess it up? I haven't even started the MQ yet.

you only need the scroll if you wish to finish the main quest story line

No. You'll keep all the scrolls. If you wish to start the MQ after finishing Dawnguard, you'll just have one less quest to do
