[WIPz] Nekhanimal's Euclid's C-Finder-Fixer

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:44 pm

The way the C-finder is implemented is ostentatiously complicated, and it's no wonder it bugs out once in a while when 4 scripts have to work perfectly with each other simultaneously. Looking at the scripts has given me the impression that this can be made a whole lot simpler, using fewer scripts and being easier to debug. Hopefully I'll be able to fix the bug where it sometimes targets without firing, and make the ammo recharge consistently every 24 hours. I'm also going to make it weigh around 5 pounds, as I don't see how a kid could wave it around like that if it were any heavier. Sound good?

Sounds interesting, personally speaking its probably not something I'd use. I have not had a single issue with that weapon. I thought the last patch was supposed to have fixed it even more? (Insert joke about fallout 3's 1.5 patch)

Edit: What I'd really like to see regarding the weapon are a couple of alternative quest balancing features.

For example, another option for where to route the power, during the quest. Like route power to wherever the followers want, but siphon some off for your weapon. Result being a weapon that takes longer to recharge, but you get the faction rewards. I tried making such a mod myself, but failed to realize the multiple scripts involved :P

I would appreciate a fix very much. I recently went to visit the vertibird crash site, and thought I'd be clever and pull out my C-Finder, but, click, nothing happened but a little light show and I proceeded to be [censored] by a half dozen angry sentry bots.

Also, I may have misinterpreted things, but it seemed like when I went back to talk to the FOTA guy at Helios 1 after activating the weapon, he wasn't sure what I'd done with the power, and I still gained fame.

HLOY SIHT! I actually found out why it keeps bugging! I'll test it some more to make sure it's absolutely stable, then release it!
