as far as people hating me for saying this, thats fine. i can see why you love this game, and i was hoping i would to. ill accept your negative comments.

with that being said. Obsidian. seriously. you came out with [censored] DLC before fixing the game!?!?!

i realize this DLC came out in accord with the games release, but that STILL MEANS you were working on this DLC before fixing your GODDAMM game during developement!

I'm sorry, but im never buying another Obsidian game, ever. i just don't feel comfortable giving you guys my money with this business model.

if anyone else agrees with me just post below. and if you don't, please say why below as well. hopefully Obsidian will stop this from happening again.

I don't dind that much is wrong with the game. A bit of lag and an odd freeze or 2, but thats normal for the game engine.

i see your point. i only had a couple of game breaking glitches, but i saw sooooo many blemishes with the game, such as getting stuck in broken windows, fighting enemies that can swim in the ground and fly in the air, the mini-gun still making the shooting noise when i holstered it, and etc. [censored] like this should have been ironed out way before hand

Well sir here's your trophy. :spotted owl:

I think you are the first one to create a thread solely to complain about New Vegas in forum history.

I've been playing New Vegas for around 25 hours on my computer. Since before I bought the game I decided to write down every bug I come across and every crash I get. In 25 hours:

-I couldn't start the caravan game (not being able to deal out cards) the first time I tried to play a game with Ringo.
-1 crash 20 mins in the game.

Apart from this, I've never encountered any more bugs and the game never crashed again. Could it be because I've got a strong computer? I used to get bugs and crashes on my older computer when I played Fallout 3.

Also, no stuttering what so ever on the highest settings possible @ 1680x1050 resolution.

If you run a piece of garbage computer, and have a mindset that says 'I'm gonna get inappropriately angry at every minor detail), then you deserve every bug you get.

Regardless of what the specs say, the sheer drag the higher res textures put on this game, not to mention the 3d sound, will bog down many computers.

Secondly, it is IMPOSSIBLE to test a game on every configuration and every p.o.s. so called 'computer' Walmart stocks on its bargain basemant shelves, not to mention users who gleefully rip their PREBUILT, EVERYTHING SOLDERED ONBOARD computer apart and try to 'upgrade' it with parts meant for high end CUSTOM BUILT machines. (Yeah thats for all you people who buy Gateway or Dell pieces of snot and try to stick a GEforce 460 GTX and a high end sound card in them)

My system is so reliable I rarely encounter problems unless I run a lot of mods, and, as a modder, I've discovered MOST of THOSE problems come from people making dirty mods (mods that change crap they shouldnt).

When I run vanilla with no mods, I almost never crash or lock up or see glitches. And if I do, its usually because I have extra programs running in the background or worse Alt-Tabbed at some point.

Not directed at anyone in particular, O.P., just venting too.

For a generalized list of what a SERIOUS game player should consider the MINIMUM build for a computer this year:

ASUS MOTHERBOARD SLOTTED FOR AMD

AMD dual or quad core processor, minimum of 3.0ghz dual core.

GEForce 460 GTX PCI Express 2 video card.

Onboard sound is actually better than a separate card at this point.

4 Gig of high end, high speed RAM

at least two Hard Drives...a terrabyte drive with decent access times for games, and a smaller but FASTER drive for the operating system (and necessary programs)

Nvidia Ntuner program.

Basic knowledge of how the (bleep) Windows 7 works.

Enough brain power to TURN USER ACCESS CONTROL (UAC) *OFF*

Im not sure if I just been lucky or what but I never face a bug yet or even a glitch if I say so maybe because I'm on a xbox 360. All I have to say is Im glad that they did come out with a DLC so soon and they did realize a patch before the DLC so I think your complain just to hear yourself to be honest..

The two major issues I've had were both due to other software / hardware screwing my whole system up not NV.

Two, there are still a few glitches that need resolving like companion A.I when switching weapons, if they have multipule choices that conflict it causes NV to CTD.
But alot of others have been worked out.

Three, the DLC was planned ages ago, and they doubtless only released the first after they got a patch out and due to contract inforced on them.

I think they have two teams actually, one for DLC's and one for patching the game.
Sooooo...
They're actually fixing the game simultaneously as they create the DLC's.
It's just that they wait a looooong time before releasing a patch.
Then again, the patch includes A LOT of fixes.

Higher resolution textures? :lmao: Where? The new energy weapons don't even have proper resolution 1st person textures, they use the world model ones!

couldn't agree with you more! this game has been a joke! fallout 3 had problems but nowhere near as much as this version. i recommended this game to my friends after loving fallout 3, most of them took the game back. even without the bugs its boring! its just you being an errand boy in an empty desert?? running back n forth several times is not much of a quest

So do you prefer the more action based Fallout 3? fine, im stick with the more entertaining New Vegas if you people dont mind

Seriously, Bethesda could delayed the game instead of releasing it,

Also

Obsidian do not put the date releases of DLC, its Bethesda Softworks, Obsidian just develop it, Bethesda test it and release it

GEForce 460 GTX PCI Express 2 video card.

Try ATI 48XX instead, save some power

To my knowledge, there's two separate "teams" we're talking about, here. The guys working on bug fixes aren't going to be a lot of help making meshes for new DLC, and I doubt a Texture Artist is going to be much use in helping your game issues. ie, work on one isn't taking resources from another.

This is somewhat against my better judgement, but I'm going to allow this thread to remain open for the time being. It does belong in the Fallout: New Vegas DLC Hardware and Software Issues discussion, however - so I'm going to move it there.

You can make the "It's your POS PC argument all day long if you want" but it's bugged to high hell on consoles as well. Everyone plays on the same hardware there, no excuse for the vast amount of bugs on consoles.

It's a good game, but I'm constantly reminded by bugs, glitches and worthless patches that it isn't a great game.

i agree with you, and thank you for letting this thread go on, but the glitches and blemishes on this game is horrendous. i don't know why Bethesda would certify this game as ready when it is taking a month or so to come up with a patch big enough just to run this game right.
