For extreme role players: yes it can be fun
For casual: meh not really, only if you want to admire digital art

i find that on major quests when i go to one spot to another by not fast traveling it becomes more of an adventure and even when i have trouble finding something to do ill have a journey of some sort good fun like my own personal lord of the rings moment the world is very immersive for me

I don't use the actually fast travel function, but I'll use carriages. The only time I ever use the actual map fast travel is for back and forth fetch quests. You experience alot more of the game, by finding new places and triggering random encounters.

I use it for when I really really don't feel like hoofing it around.
Like after a quest, I just zip back to the back. Or when I need to locate something in a stash somewhere. I'm not going to go the hard way when all I want is a glove I wanted to disenchant.

I have a hard time NEVER fast traveling, but it is worth it to try. But I'm sorry, the walk from whiterun to windhelm just isn't as much fun the 30th time

Sometimes I like skipping the fast travel just because I wanna poke around in the woods. Other times I've got a goal and I wanna get there ASAP, so I'm gonna fast travel.

I only use carriages because you can still feel imersed in the world when you use them... when you fast travel, the game barely even feels open world anymore

I never Fast Travel, I think it's way too forgiving in both Skyrim and Oblivion. It practically defeats the purpose of having a huge game world.

I'd feel a little differently if you had to actually give something in order to Fast Travel. Even just buying a horse.

The only time I'll use fast travel is using carriages. I'll use normal fast travel only if I'm trying to get around a bug or if I get stuck in the topography. Neither of those happen often.

I don't like fast travel, because it's too much like teleport. Everything that does or doesn't happen to the player between points A and B is totally skipped.

At least in a carriage, you're sheltered somewhat from the world around you while you're travelling.

Depends on the mood, to be honest. Sometimes I just like to soak in the landscape and let random encounters play out, but sometimes I'm just in a hurry to get a certain objective done, or I'm just in a combat mood, rather than an exploring one.

Exactly how I am.

I love doing it that way, so much stuff to do. Although my favorite thing to do is hunt for dragons. I will crouch in the trees and stalk dragons, once that one is down. We move on to the next one I find :)

I Fast Travel when needed, and never too far for I can miss out on a lot of content along the way, I take carriages when traveling to close cities and I stay within a certain region.

well it depends.
for RP'ers no.
for a casual gamer yes
but if you want to admire the game in all of its digital and pixelated glory then you shouldnt fast travel. plus by not fast traveling you discover more locations.

Depends, do you feel like walking from Riften to Solitude a dozen times?

After putting in over 1,250 hours jogging down the same path over and over looses its magic.

Agreed. Walking is for exploring new places.

Well when I don't fast travel and I get to where I need to be, I always feel a lot more accomplished and I have more fun, even if I don't actually get as much done in the same amount of time if I am using fast travel. It just gets kinda boring using fast travel. Plus you find cool in game Easter eggs when you're just walking around out in the middle of nowhere.

I just started a no fast travel character and I is really opening up the world in interesting ways. I am finding a lot more and it just seems more immersive.

Since I'm in a mod-mentioning mood, there are in fact mods that will turn off fast travel.
