Never played as a Vampire

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:54 pm

Never played a vampire before but i want to try it out. Here is what i'm thinking of doing:

With race i figured i go Dunmer by the name Zazan Coldvein
Illusion to get in to peoples minds and use them for my bidding
Alteration for the flesh spells (invest in mage armor perks)
One-handed just in case
Conjuration for necromancy spells and perks (ritual stone also)

Going to let myself get to stage 4 so its mandatory i stay away from cities and towns. Only use stuff i find or take of of dead bodies. Wander trying to find a greater purpose.

Anything else?

I tried it, but the powers did not outweigh the negatives for me.

Maybe if you selected Dark Elf for your race to help get over the fire weakness, and only traveled at night. It might be fun for RP.

Yeah i was thinking this would be more of an RP than anything else.

I rarely run into vampires and they are usually dead before they get within touching range of my character.

You're going to have a difficult time with the 100% fire problem unless you go dark elf or breton. Also as a vampire you're going to want to do the "book of love" quest so you have the +15% resistance buff from the temple of Mara in Riften. You will need stage one/two to get that quest done.

I will be going Rogue/Alchemy/Illusion/Archery

I found using the Lady Stone helps offset the daytime regen problems. Granted I never let the symptoms go too far. Stage 2 or 3 at the most.

Started it this morning, pretty fun so far. Gonna be more fun on higher levels with higher level spells. Still time to be tweaked. Any ideas?

Not very vampire roleplay that quest though is it? Unless it's a Twilight kind of thing.

I played a vampire from levels 8 to 52 on my assassin and the fire resistance wasn't a big deal until Ancient Dragons. I died a few times I would not have otherwise but that was just an added challenge. It did however become an insurmountable obstacle once I ran into Ancient Dragons regularly.Being a vampire is great for Rp and to just change things up a bit, it.doesn't have any real value otherwise.

try taking the necromage perk from the restoration tree

This handy restoration perk makes alll spells you cast on undead 25% more powerful. If you are a vampire this includes any magic you use on yourself. Including the enchantment on equipment.

I could never contract Vampireism. I would just sit there and let them attack me, and never catch it. It's really odd. I heard it isn't that fun though. I didn't like it much in Oblivion either, I much prefer being a werewolf.

Did you know if you pick up Necromage perk in Restoration, it will make YOU stronger.

EDIT: I was hoping I didn't get ninja'd. Dammit!

You can order followers to sleep then feed on them. So not being sneaky isn't that big if a deal. Plus it's not that hard to sneak into a place when they're sleeping
