I never really understood those stormcloak vs empire topics.

They both have their good sides and their bad sides, depending on your roleplay.
If somebody wants to be a stormcloak or imperial then that does not mean you are sworn to convince him not to be one. I prefer the stormcloaks because it fits my roleplaying, but i don't go to the forums and yell at the people who prefer the empire. I mean, how amazing and realistic skyrim is...it is still just a game.

I see your point. However, I find that most of the conversation on this topic is simply a friendly debate. You give your reasons for preferring one side to the other, another person counters with theirs. Sometimes the conversation steers away from the 'friendly' part, but for the most part I don't find it too bad.

Death to the Stormcloack! Oh, wait...

I agree: though it's fun to speculate on the moral gray areas of Skyrim, a lot of people take this too seriously... The whole 'roleplay' stuff to me looks to me more like larping that following proper roleplaying rules. <_<

I've never participated in them, but they are my favorite ones to read. The arguments presented on either side are really good and they kind of blow up the whole True RPG FansTM (which base everything off of Fallout, interestingly) complaint that Skyrim storytelling is banol and shallow.

Oh but i don't have a problem with friendly debates, i like that. It starts to bother me when a stormcloaks vs empire topic results in a flame war.

I like those topics too as long as they don't turn into arguments based on racism and other irrelevant topics like that. The political aspects are usually pretty interesting.

You must be a Thalmor agent. Burn the OP I say!

(Why else would he say he supports the stormcloaks? It's so obvious he doesn't actually do it  )

Yeah, but at least the points tossed back and forth are worth reading. They're much better than the "Why Skyrim svcks", "I don't have Kinect so Bethesda ripped me off", "Storytelling svcks", "Toggle for everything", "I feel betrayed" threads which always inevitably end in flamewars and points are developed from misinformed and subjective information coated in the syrup of sarcasm and blind emotionalism.

This is a forum, we debate and put forward our opinions for others to see..

I'm strongly stormcloak for all my characters (some side with neither though), I can't justify any of my characters supporting the empire that agreed to let the thalmor slaughter innocent worshippers of talos, when most of the empire supporters worship talos anyway. They are weak and a shadow of their former selves, skyrim is better of independent.

Like i said before, i like it when people discuss those things. But not when it results into flame wars.

Let other people argue, I couldn't care less tbh. I want to put my opinion forward and most people can discuss that without 'flaming'.

Of course he supports them, all Thalmor do. It makes perfect sense because the Thalmor are Nazis and Ulfric is Hitler. Didn't you get the memo? :P

I see your point, but threads about other threads are not allowed on the forums as far as I know.

Just thought you should know.

The thing is, it doesn't really matter who you side with.
Just as with Daggerfall, the events will be redundant. Both sides will win, Both sides will lose. That's the trick with the Elder Scrolls. Every possible outcome has and will happen at the same time.

There will be another Dragon break, A scroll was used at the time wound and a Dragon was killed but not destroyed.

I wonder if the writers will remember when it comes time for the next installment...
