New Actor Skin Problem

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 10:37 pm

I've been working on a mod that adds some NPCs to a custom house I made, but I'm having two problems with them. Everytime I load the game and go talk to them, they don't have any facial animations for their default dialogue, such as "Hello's and Goodbye's", and their face skin tone is gray, versus the tones I set up in CK. Now on the CK side their faces match their body color perfectly, although everytime I edit them, I get an error message saying something about being unable to get the "face mesh from the .esp". I'll put up the exact error message when I can get to the computer it's on, but I think that should be enough to go on if you've seen the problem. I renamed the .esp for the mod at one point and think that may be a problem, but have yet to try renaming it to the original name, if it's not too late.

hello :) the faces are grey because you have to export the FaceGenData, you just have to highlight your actors names in the object window and hit ctrl F4, then you should be good to go on that. I'm not sure about the dialogue issues though.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try it as soon as I can. I wouldn't be surprised if the facial animations are related to the FaceGenData though.

Exporting the FaceGenData worked like a charm! Oh, and the reason they didn't have facial animations was because I had the "Simple Actor" box ticked in their properties.

I'm glad it's working :) I once rebuilt a mod twice before I figured out that FaceGen thing lol
