New Allegiances bug?

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 1:30 am

I've been going through the DG vamp quest. All I really want to do is the quest 'The Gift' and turn my wife into a vamp, but I haven't gotten that quest yet so I'm just doing random ones over and over.

Well one of the times I did the New Allegiances quest the target was Valindor in Riften. I turned him, no problem and went on. Then about 5 quests later I got the quest again and again the target was Valindor. Well I went ahead and tried it, but after seduction all he would do is thank me for the gift and I had no option to turn him (again).

So basically the quest is broken, and I'm not sure I can quit the quest and go for another one while trying to get The Gift.

Does anyone have a way around this?

Thanks.

Rule one, always save before turning in a quest. This way when they send you to turn some one that you've already bitten, you can reload and try for a diferent radiant quest.
I learned this the hard way as i had the same problem, only it was some tavern wench in winterhold they kept sending me after.

Yeah you can work around it like that, I was trying to get the rings and had to keep reloading, gets annoying. There are only three NPC's as far as I know who you can turn and it bugs out on all three.

I reloaded and got a new person, but it was also someone I have already turned. Reloaded about 20 times and it wouldn't change.

I finally had to just go and kill her, thus failing the quest.

Note I've had to kill 5 'Named' NPC's now (mainly due to that other vamp quest) and the vamp attacks in towns have killed 6. Little by little my cities are becoming ghost towns with wandering guards.

They don't count as important though. I'm role-playing (yeah, a shocker for this game) so I'm trying to do as instructed. But honestly between my kills and the other vamp attacks there are not many non-essential people left in my game.

Just making sure you're aware of the option. My character gives the [censored] that gives that quest a dirty look each and everytime and in the back of his head he's going "This isn't about us framing the dawnguard. this is about you trying to get me to commit death by cop in the middle of some Jarl's court you dirty SOB"
